Not really answering the question properly but had wilf stayed, came up with us and not had his confidence bummed then I think the possibilities could have been endless.
One of the players who is just born with effortless technical ability.
Guess we'll never know now though unless he comes back.

There have been many during my 38 years of watching Palace too hard to choose one but in different areas I opt for, GoalKeeper Nigel Martyn, Jimbo in defence, Geoff Thomas in Midfield, Wrighty up front.

We are Palace from Selhurst.

Attilio Lombardo.

In terms of ability and standing in World football it has to be Lombardo

Agree with many names put forward, and I also think that Steve kember is worth a mention.

Steve Kember is a good shout as he was promoted twice 1969 and 1979.

Got to be JIM Cannon or Ian Wright for me, though.

A new era of total football is on the way to Selhurst Park!!

I think personally that probably Lombardo was the most technically gifted player for palace, but for a player that could make your heart skip a beat, I would agree with the don.

Oh the words of wisdom from someone so wise.

Hi Tux how is it with you and Mrs Tux these days, oh yes how's the donkey, has it's tail grown back.
-------------------------------------------

Olive's tail grew back fine bud but unfortunately time catches up with all of us eventually, she's now in pastures greener

Mrs TUX is doing what she's best at bud, she's a combination of Florence Nightingale/Dr Do little...............and also looks after this vagrant when she has time
At risk of bringing back nightmares...............how's Dutchy?! All well I hope

Yes I understand that, the codger doing ok, had a bit of a cancer scare a couple of years back, but like the proverbial bad penny keeps bouncing back.

define best.

Lombardo - had more skill at the end of his career than most of the players we have had during their entire careers.

Martyn - Best keeper SE25 has had as a resident and we've been quite fortunate on that front too.

Sansom - Nuff said, just got better and better.

until he went to The Arse

The best as in the most skilful, natural, impulsive work of footballing art is Ian Wright. No ifs or buts.

The best as in technically gifted, seer of all options and always executor of the best one, and just damned flawless is Kenny Sansom.

Head and shoulders above everyone else both of them.
