Against Webb look at this:

Promotion-chasing Brentford had to settle for a draw in a game which saw referee Eddie Ilderton change his mind about sending off Sheffield United's Kieron Freeman and awarding a penalty.

Freeman was dismissed after he was ruled to have fouled Marcello Trotta.

But, after consulting with assistant Mark Dwyer, Ilderton rescinded the red card and gave a drop ball.

"He got it wrong but he put it right," said Blades boss Nigel Clough. "It takes a lot of courage to do that."

And not enough has been said to commend the guy for doing it. Everyone jumps on Ref's backs to slate them and tell tehm how wrong they are, lose your job etc etc yet when one actually has the pods to change the decision (rightly I understand), everyone questions him and his right to do so.

Clinton is Clinton. I have known him for a long time, I know his mother... Simon Jordan

I was merely pointing out that saying a ref deserves respect just because he's a "FIFA ref" is ludicrous given that FIFA knows as much about ethical governance and probity as I know about quantum mechanics.

What the hell has "Ethical governance" and "Probity" got to do with the selection of top referees ? I like to think that to qualify as a FIFA referee one has displayed a great deal of competence in the field of refereeing and NOT been selected as a result of any dubious practices.

It's quite simple - you said Webb was ok because he's a "FIFA ref". But FIFA are the sh*ttest, most corrupt organisation in the history of football, so your useage of them as a byword for credibility is patently ridiculous.

Do you get that?

I agree mate!!! You express all my sentiments.
