Fourth thread on this topic live right now.

FFS, is there nothing else to talk about? In any case this is just rehashing what has already been said on the other threads.

His performance against an evenly-matched side, WBA, was good. Against Utd and Swansea first half we barely ever attacked. I bet if he'd been on second half against Swansea he'd have done just as well as Bolasie. Plus I think he's best going through the middle, as against WBA, rather than on the wings. Looking forward to seeing him playing in behind Murray.

Agree with this, he would have thrived in the second half when we put our foot on the gas. In the last two games while hes been on the pitch he been used more as defensive cover, he was brought here to help our lamentable strike rate so play the game that suits him

He seems to talk the talk but is he really as good as his reputation or is it all hype ?
I was impressed with his performance against WBA , but against UTD he was mediocre , & yesterday I think he was poor to say the least.

Was the instinctive and wonderful finish v WBA hype or was it real? I seem to remember seeing it. Who else in the Palace team that day would have scored that?

Good player that is not in doubt.

That he adds an extra dimension and goal scoring threat is also not in doubt.

However, I am very concerned to see all of these soundbites from him every day - it just seems odd. It is like he is Lionel Messi dropping in for a few months to help us out. He is most certainly NOT that good.

Yes I am aware the press are likely all over him but it is surely easy enough to say 'sorry chaps no comment I am too busy." There have been four times more quotes from Ince in the past three weeks than all our other players combined.

I want him to do his talking on the field not come off like some sort of puffed up ambassador of football who is looking to lay the table for whichever club will be buying his next meal.

Probably because the 'Press' have paid him much more attention than some of our other players ! If he merely said "No comment" etc etc he might be deemed aloof, uncorporative and other negative things (I can think of some !). He is perhaps only trying to be honest and open, merely answering questions and not dismissive of those who approach him.

I do like ince but I feel after zahas exploits last season he's always gonna be compared to those high standards , but he was playing for a poor team in Blackpool but did score goals!! The prem is a lot higher standard , I think hel help us stay up but think hel be off in the summer , prefer him more central than wide right though

That is such an exaggeration. Get off the lads back, whether or not he is Messi - he has still been consistently impressive at his age and I think he desereves credit for NOT doing a Wilf and going to a big prem side before his time.

We shouldn't discourage our young talents and we need to get fully behind them, so they feel welcome. And I would much prefer to have a young talent who speaks to the press a bit, then no Ince at all.

I guarantee he will prove a lot of people wrong for the duration of the season and alot of the people telling him what he can or can't do will be singing his praises.

GET OFF THE LADS BACK

I am NOT getting on his back. I am merely suggesting that the number of press releases we have from him is out of proportion to his status in our team.

He is with us to gain experience at this level of football NOT learning how to handle the mdeia. I understand they all want a piece of him but sometimes less is more.

I support him and our signing of him 100% but I really do not believe that a guy who has been here five minutes, has no experience at this level and is very much learning his trade should be giving interviews every day.

I just want him to learn his craft and put in some decent performances between now and the end of the season - he can then sit and talk to the media non stop for three months if he so chooses, just NOT now.

Haven't read the posts, but surely we can only judge Ince in games where Pulis deems us good enough to be allowed to attack, like against West Brom. Against Man Utd and Swansea he deemed us not good enough to risk going forward and deployed him as an auxiliary full back. Will be interested to see us actually go for teams and see just what we are capable of. I mean the worst that can happen is relegation, but the World will still be turning and life will go on.

Exactly, Dangermouse. If peeps don't like what this young man is doing on the pitch, blame TP. If they don't like what he's doing of the pitch...well that's his private life..who cares.... don't read it. Its people who read this nonsense that encourage the papers to print all this irrelevant rubbish.
