Can't wait for this game, will be there. Think Selhurst will be rocking and up for it. However, a point for us will be massive and am hoping we come away with that at least. Anything more will be amazing. We owe them one for the dodgy sending off at Manure remember ;-)

We should all expect a win from this game.

Man Utd have been busying themselves on the beaches of Dubai, photographing with Maradona this week. (Watford tried this tactic before the P/O Final.) Their season is frankly over. Champions League is unobtainable and their PL status guarenteed.

We have a newfound respect from the football world for our style of play and tenacity. We will be afforded greater respect from our opponents for now. If we can get a result against Utd then we will have gone a long way to securing our safety.

Exactly. Palace have to start gleaning points from these top sides and Saturday should be a good start. It's highly possible too. Palace have had some success at home to the 'dreamers'. Let's giv'em a nightmare!

I feel you have little clue as to what you are talking about. If we win this game it'll be a shock. Not a massive one but a shock nonetheless.
Man United have fallen from grace but only in the sense of competing for the title and Champions League. Since AF left they have had to wake up to the fact that in the real world you can't win every week without the best club manager this country has possibly ever seen (behind Brian Clough IMO). They still pay Wayne Rooney more each week than we pay our entire first team and turn over a billion a year.
Compared to Palace both on and off the field Man United are a formula 1 car and we are a three series BMW.
If we play to our absolute best and Man United don't play well (not unheard of this season) we have a chance but I don't think anyone should underestimate the task by letting a few home wins against bottom half teams go to their heads.
Sure, we're playing well but there is a long way to go against some tough teams. This is one of them, make no mistake

Always a massive day when United are in town. This is what the top division is all about and a great opportunity for us to be the 12th man and show the Sky viewers what being Palace is all about.Try and enjoy the day whatever the result, soak up the atmosphere and you never know. And remember its not games like this that will determine our season.....

Agree with all this....except for that last sentence. Unfortunately it is games like this that will determine where we finish. There are no home games against bottom teams left so if we want to end on more than 26 points we have to go for wins at home against teams like Manure and at away games against our relegation rivals.

Anyone who watches the Premier League will have seen that Man Utd are better than us. The League table doesn't lie but you only need to watch them live on TV to see they are a class above us.

Don't expect to win this game.

We've got a chance. We're at home, playing well and don't concede many. Hope to win, but don't expect it.

We haven't picked up nearly enough points against top half sides, and really need to start doing that. This weekend would be nice.....

We can usually hang on until half-time, then concede early in the second half and go on to lose.

If we can break that habit, who knows?

It 's vital we don't have anyone sent off . . . Is Ashley Young playing?

Think they are just being an enthusiastic Palace fan hoping for a result as most are. No need for that type response!

Our home form since the arrival of TP has been superb with only a defeat to Newcastle (bad day at the office all round) and the post turkey and leftovers draw with Norwich. The fact the teams we have beaten are all bottom half of the table means little - you can only play those you are put up against.

We are a considerably different proposition than we were in the first couple of months and are actually a fairly decent team in the making at this level.

United have had a dreadful and transitional season but will be back in the top four next year that is for sure. We must believe in what we have and getting at least a point is possible. It may no happen of course and if they win it will not be a disaster but I genuinely feel there is something in this game for us.

This about sums up my thoughts. Looking forward to the game. Hoping but not expecting.

I agree CL is unobtainable through Top 4 finish, but defending champions qualify for the competition the following year regardless of their domestic league placing - and Man Utd are still in it, so it is not true to say that it is unobtainable.

As for being sure Man U will be in the Top 4 next season, it is definitely not a certainty. It depends on the transfer and possible managerial movements of 5 other clubs.

What I'm trying to say is that posters on here are on massive overkill about Man Utd's plight. Although there's no reason not to hope for the opposite, I can't see anything other than a comfortable win for them.
