Any penalty kick that hits the inside of the side netting is pretty much unsaveable. Cham's was one of those.

And Pepe Smell can bog off with his "laughable" comment.

I haven't seen any replays of it but it looked a pen to me.

I was convinced it was a penalty when I saw it at the game and I have not changed my mind after seeing the replay !

Because Nasa have said they won't being the Space Shuttle out of retirement to go and get it, and because we still haven't paid to get Pembo's miss v Brighton back yet

Why did Puncheon not take it ??

Obviously hes tood good for us if we go down.

but I am becoming more confident daily that we'll stay up.

I hope and prey cham is an eagle next season. Murray and him I beleive would make a prem class strike force.

cham may not have been title winning class but he damn sure is upper prem class. We are lucky to have him.

I saw what you did there

Keeper clearly won the ball was never a penalty. Great finish tho. I think we'll end up playing Chamakh and Murray up front.

Getting a minute touch on ball as the keeper takes out the forward does not mean he played the ball.

Yep, Foster did get a touch but if he hadn't slid through and brought Cham down he would have strode on and knocked it into an empty net! Pen all the way.

I'm glad you said that as from my view in Homesdale B and confirmed on TV keeper definitely touches ball first and then momentum takes him into Chamakh. You could argue that ball didn't get pushed too far away and Chamakh might have still got to it but i think we definitely got lucky there.

Whislt really pleased with the result and 3 goals i think the pen disguised a really poor 2nd half performance. WBA controled the half and but for an amazing save from Jules would have equalised. We offered very little in second half and could have paid the price.

Keeping him happy and settled within the squad and making him feel wanted offers the best chance of him hanging around IMO. We're doing a good job of that so far and it's clear for all to see that his once-shattered confidence is well on the way to being restored.

I'm not sure a new deal would be the right way to go for either party right now (as a fan, it absolutely is) - not whilst things are going so well. I think both sides sitting down when we know where we'll be and what the club can offer will be appealing to him and us. That way we're not over-stretching in the event of relelgation and he's not over committing in the same situation.

Now that his stock is rising again there is always the chance a biggish euro club may come in and be able to offer him Europa or even Champions League footy next season.

I don't think he will move to another UK club but someone like Lille or Fiorentina and the extra quality of life might sway him and why not?

From the referees angle I don't think he'd have seen it. Its took me a few replays to see that it might not have been a penalty. Managers have the benefit of bias and replays to make their decision, but the referee has to call it.

The manager complaining that if it was a penalty the keeper should have been sent off is absurd. The Referee I think made a good call. Penalty and no card.

When he bore down on goal, it looked to me as if he lacked the confidence to shoot and knew he was going to go for the penalty.

Class finish though.

Yup, no doubt. And that was the worrying part about this. He was one on one and should have buried it rather than playing for the pen.
