A lot of the debate on HOL has been fuelled by the newspaper ( well, The Mirror mainly ) reporting on our struggles in the transfer window. The extension of that is to report that Pulis is unhappy as a result. Until such time as we hear to the contrary, then of course we are going to do what this site is for - discuss, speculate, rant, whatever !

We all have our own views on how the club is run. This is a place where we can share those views, no matter how extreme some of them are.

So to answer the original question - it's a '' no '' from me.

What you say is true and much of the lively debate here has been fuelled by various Mirror stories. I must admit that I don't really understand what is going on as I don't believe that it is down to lazy journalism so that means that either someone is feeding them snippets for their own ends or else the Mirror are printing blatant lies and I'm not sure which one it is.

The board are well aware of what is said on these boards and they do often use them as well as social media for putting across their views.

They also know that many supporters are interested in their views otherwise why would Steve Parish have over 16,500 followers on his Twitter account.

There is no doubt that robust debate on the forums does get the Board's attention and perhaps we do influence some of their thinking otherwise why would Steve Parish have said that they wouldn't be employing Chris Coleman as so many of the fans were against the idea.

The board and Steve Parish in particular understand the power of the fan and know how important forums and social media is nowadays in formulating and spreading opinion and there is no doubt that it was the unrest here that forced Tony Pulis to state that he wouldn't be walking away but it's just a shame that Steve Parish and Steve Browett didn't come out and issue unequivocal denials straight away to kill off the story before it gained legs

Yes mate you keep telling yourself how relevant this load of utter nonsense and ignorance is in the grand scheme of things. What you post here IS important. Bless.

I'm sure journalists do come and have a look and then use it to back up the phrase 'the fans think...' But take a look at a thread, any thread. So many unresearched things stated as 'fact', hyperbole, vitriol, opinions and egos - anyone who genuinely takes anything seriously on here needs a reality check.

You are so wrong Finchers the papers do take the internet ramblings of this board serioulsy ...we all remember The Mirrors 'DanH is a Bender' headlines

You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue
Yours sincerely

The papers are the architects, some of the forum can at times lap up whatever is served to them. One thing about Palace that's unique is that the percentage of Palace fans with accounts on HOL or the BBS is pretty high. How many Palace fans are there? 40,000? How many account holders? How many non-account holders speak to an account very soon after something like this comes out?

How many Palace fans buy/read/log onto The Mirror unless there's a click through on HOL or the BBS? Very few.

The papers throw a pack of dogs one bone, sit back, laugh, and wait to see if it causes article number 2 they've got ready to go to print.

Sorry to disagree Rudi but I beleive the percentage of Palace fans on BBS and Hols is not that high I reckon 5% with the majority not active. BBS have far more than on here but the majority of fans I know do not go on here or will look but do not have accounts.

'Look' is good enough. I think there's a lot of people who set up accounts, especially in the earlier days of the BBS, but don't bother logging on. It's the best place to find news articles, all listed in one place.

Agreed, and the fixture list and up coming events feed is the easiest and quickest to find online.
