My God, how fickle.

Reading the whole thread the first guy got ripped, the 2nd recent suggestion is endorsed. Funny how much expectations have changed in 18 months!

Only trouble is most managers don't play little guys up front these days. Gayle perfect example.

Everyone of them need a Glen murray kinda target man besides them.

Back in the day Ian wright always had bright bergkamp or Alan smith besides him. Now hardly any team play two central strikers in the premiership anymore due to the pace of the game nowadays...more midfielders are required.

If we got him...no doubt he'd be played in zaha or bolasies position as I don't see us playing 442 anytime soon.

Wouldn't say fickle , 18 months is a long time in footbal , and after two midtable finishes we are much more attractive to players , still don't think we would get him ahead of others that would be interested though , and I'm not bothered either , we can get players much more suited to our team and formation for the kind of Money he would cost.

You will be surprised soon.

We are exciting, getting known and getting stronger.

It won't be long before we get this sort of played. We just need to spend our £ on a couple of these sorts of players, stick with what we have and bring the academy players through.

We have such a solid academy squad but they are not coming through. We have one of the worst set of stats in the league for that.

Bring in 2 of these sorts of names!

There are far better players at Real we may as well go for, why not Ronaldo or Bale...

Ridiculous thread

To all the critics of this post, He isn't getting a look in at Real Madrid or Man Utd now and WANTS to move. If we're going to progress and move for top class players then why not go for him?! It's just the same with the Cabaye or Remy situations but let me guess, you'd rather settle for a championship striker in the hope they come good?! Where's your ambition?

Yes, if we had just been promoted then this would be a ridiculous post but we are established now and I think that we should approach our business like Swansea did when they were in our situation after two seasons in the Premiership. They bought Bony for around the £12 million mark.

I just hate it when people are so defeatist.

...and Norwich spent about the same on Rip Van Winkle in their 3rd season... and look what happened to them.

Seriously, I want things to progress quickly but we need to lower the gears on the downhill. This club has gone from bust to mid table Prem with the 6th best pre tax profits and the 4th best debt through sensible, prudent growth.

I know this talk is boring and may appear to lack ambition, but so long as there are those old, boring f@rts keeping a close eye on the money, you can continue to enjoy Premiership football for many years to come. If that means stealing bargains from the Champ and La Ligue then so be it.

Chicarito in the box, with the service from our wingers would knock 40 in next year. Dont think we could afford his salary though.

.

Bony was somewhat more expensive than 'Van Wolfswinkel'. Think 'Van' cost some £8.6 Mill whereas Bony cost £12 Mill + add-ons. If my recollection is correct, 'Van' only scored 1 goal - he was bought by current Brighton manager Chris Hughton !
