Huddersfield at home 85

nice sunny day to start , we were 2 up , then it rained , then we had sleet followed by a bit of snow , and lost 3-2 , I thought it was 4-3 but on checking the date etc it reports 3-2 , so not as bad as I thought

psst , your my favourite , don't tell anyone , @mightypalace

One of the worst HALVES I remember was in mid 90's at end of season against Wimbledon at their place .
I think it was their last game at Plough Lane.

It was a dreadful game they were terrible and we were worse.

It was 0-0 at half-time and it was so bad that I asked my 4 kids if they wanted to go home then, and I've never done that before.

Anyway, we stayed and Ian Wright scored a hatrick in the second half including one whereby he took down a Martyn punt out just after the halfway line and twisted and turned it over the centre backs head , ran round him and vollied in from distance [ typical of Wrighty at the time ]

The only time I have ever left considerably early was at Leeds about 3 years ago just after their fourth goal went in , in a league cup match. They were in a division below us.
We were abs. terrrible not help by having Darryl Flavahan [ spelling ? ] in goal for , I think , his first game as Julian's understudy.

1st) Feb '81 0-3 home to Coventry. 3-0 at HT, cov could have scored 15 if they'd have tried. Not just rubbish performance, team seemed to suffer a collective nervous breakdown, could not string one pass together - only player who played well - Peter Nicholas. 2nd) April '74 0-2 home to fulham - beat them 3-1 at the cottage on easter Monday, Peter Taylor show, Bobby Moore capn of Fulham, then another performance like the entire team were on a bad acid trip - not just poor but a total collapse (Roy Barry one player who played OK). Both performances were worse than the most miserable time spent watching Palace 3rd) 0-5 v Wimbledon feb '85 - nearest this placid, thoughtful eagle came to becoming a football hooligan - their fans singing 'team of the 80s' and 'we want six' - fancied thumping one or two wimbledonians seated nearby (noone played OK for us this time).

I was going to say the Cov match too. Without doubt the worst I've ever seen, though Gerry Murphy seems to stand out as the only one who played well. You're right about the 15. Awful match....memories eh?!

....or was it Murphy who stood out because he was the worst player on the pitch? hmmm!

2 games from 03-04 0-5 away to Wigan, after which Steve Kember was sacked. Then 1-3 at home to Crewe which effectively stopped Kit Symons getting the job full time.
Who'd have thought we'd go up that year after these appalling performances.

One of only two times I have left a Palace match before the final whistle. The complete lack of effort was the worst aspect that day.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand!

The scunthorpe 4-0 defeat in 2009-10 season was an a terrible 90 mins of football from Palace.

You can listen to Warnock's views on the match. A quote in the report saying 'I can't think of a bigger embarrassment in my career.'

[Link]

Another match might be was the 3-0 defeat against Watford in the play-offs. I'm a bit confused because all I can remember is being disappointed with the performance after the match. Was it that bad or just because it was the play-offs?

Find out what team is in which division, eg which division is Coppull United in?

The 0-5 home defeat to Wimbledon under Sir Steve was the pits but the worst game ever was the legendary 0-0 under Trev against Sheff Wed when absolutely NOTHING happened!
