89/90 season, I was 15 and suddenly football made sense... well that and I had a girlie teenage crushes on Ian Wright, Mark Bright and John Salako.

simon rodger's testimonial 6 or 7 years back but I wasn't interested in football back then so maybe my first palace match against burnley in the 06/07 season which ended 2-2

Sometime in the late 70's, my Dad used to take me. The player I remember most from that time is Vince Hilaire.

February 1964 - Palace v Colchester on dull grey day. Sat in the old stand with my dad watching a 0-0 draw. Obviously that didn't put me off. We went on to win promotion and I was there to celebrate? a 3-1 to defeat to Oldham on the last day of the season. Coventry led by the bearded chinster won the title.

I think at some stage around the 85/86 season, I would have been about 4 I guess and remember going for a walk with my grandad and dad one sunday and we ended up at selhurst park and my grandad had me on his shoulders and told me that this was where his team played he then let me look through one of the iron gates on the arthur wait stand, he told me if I looked through the gap I would be able to see the pitch. I had difficulty seeing it so I just told him that I could see it as I didnt want to to dissapoint him, I was only young but such a vivid memory.
He passed away about a year later or so. So growing up my support for Palace began because of my grandad. My first game wasnt until March 94 away to pompey an eric young header sealing a 1-0 win and chants of "we are top of the league" cemented the love even more. Thanks grandad for "that" walk :-)

1968 for me. my older brother and his friend suggested i should support palace, because they were 'great', and , being 7 at the time i trusted every word they said, despite coming from the north east.never regretted it though.
