Mate you still got it.
Whats the red for ffs.
Good old days boy and although we may have never agreed politically, got on pretty well football wise.
How,s bruv? well I hope.
Got a lot of time for you two. Good blokes.
Would,nt want the old days back though. Too old and even uglier.
Tried to explain to the missus what a laugh we used to have but she said that we were a bunch of old men and should grow up.
Behaving now though. married,mortgage,job etc.
Take care and regards.
Couldnt PM you mate due to the red.(Always knew you were red deep down)

Having just read about Orient away years back I was reminded of about 50/60 punks and skins who were there.
I spent most of the day with them and tbh they were fukkin brilliant.
Anybody else remember them?
They managed to get a couple of bottles of pernod into the game and drank their arses off throughout the match.
I,ve got one photo of them somewhere at Cambridge away but only about thirty of them by then.
Any names for this bunch of fruitcakes????

The away game when Jim Cannon scored an own goal in the 89th minute?
I remember loads of punks at Palace but never actually new them.

ID love to see the photo i was one of the punks

Blimey. There is a name from the past.
Paul was a skinhead long before he ever was a punk.

Steve Hammond RIP from Coulsdon was a mate of Pauls.
He was also a skinhead and then turned punk.
But one thing for sure he was always Palace.

I rememeber a lot of the CPL punks, a couple of them still go to Palace tho the piercings and tartan trousers are long gone, one of them drinks in the Clifton every home game round by the tv, Cant for the life of me think of his name tho, He's a part of history,I recalll seeing him in the late 70's and early 80's
Not a punk but Monty (Madmonty) was in the Glaziers lounge Sat took me back many a year seeing him again!!!

Edited by Barcelona Based Fan (22 Aug 2010 6.14pm)

Ah monty... Was he sober???
Do you remember when he ran on the pitch when play had been stopped, got the ball and scored???
Cant remember who we were playing but that is one f***ing great memory.

Wasn't that at Vicarage Road? The play off 2nd leg in 2006? That was one of the highlights of a surprisingly brilliant evening, despite the result and AJ's farewell...

I know who that was as he got nicked for it, good mate of mine. Don't think it was the guy you are talking about - the person on the pitch is only 26 now, so would have been 18 back then. Used to be a youtube video of it but I think it's now gone.

Whenever I feel the need to exercise, I lie down until it goes away.

Ha ha, yeah I'm still here mate, great days, we did have some laughs that's for sure! Remember me and Doobie (RIP) walking through Croydon to the Greyhound in our pyjamas with studded dog collars and safety pins on for a laugh! Was always a Croydon skin then though, but we knocked about with Croydon Punks.

Oi Paul

Have not seen you since I bumped into you in a pub in Southampton a few years ago.

Good days mate.
I remember you well with your crombi and boots and braces and of course your Palace scarf.
Remember going on the pitch at Brighton.
Funny as fcuk.
Hammond should have stayed a skin as he went all weird after getting into punk.
He had a punk party at his house back then and the police were waiting at the stations as so many people were turning up and were put back on the next train to London.

Yeah Hammond moved down Bristol and went well weird, ended up dying of OD so I heard. His younger sister Ann died as well, of the big "C", she was really nice, right shame, not very old either. Ain't seen Jane for a while.
Your right about Steve though, I could see it coming, then when he moved, and became a social worker I think, I knew what would happen. Saw him once more when I had an ice cream van, he came out of his mum's to get ice cream, when he was up visiting from Bristol, he looked terrible, hardly recognised him! That was the last time I ever saw him.
Ain't seen none of the Palace lot for a while now, have to go to a game or two soon I suppose, see who I see! Been well into rugby for a while!

Hi guys, hope you don't mind adding to your 70s & 80s love in.
At the time late 70s I used to go with a mate from School Lee Moody (I would love to meet up with him again) and used to try to sneak into the Whitehorse end with some of the guys you are all talking about.
Most of them were either connected to Coulsdon (where I still love) or Riddlesdown school as it was then. These days you fighting to get into that school, those days you were fighting to get out. Stan and his brothers were at Riddlesdown with me. John T, Monty were mates with Stan and loads of others in Coulsdon and that is the connection.
I did see John T in the Arfur against Chelscum this season, time and his lifestyle has not been kind to him bless him, but I'm now 51 so he must be mid 50's.
Anyway, great reading through this thread guys, great to remember and reminisce a little.

oi Nick
John T will love you for saying that mate.
Seen John a couple of times last season and yep both times in the Arthur.

Coulsdon was the connection with a lot of names on here. The Red Lion was a meeting place for loads of us.
Rickman hill and the mount and also the mid day sun.
see both Den O and Pat T at Reading a few seasons ago.
Loads of other names but wont mention them.

Still hear from Tufty and Alan H who were both Woodmansterne.

Anyway getting back to the punk.
Went up the Greyhound a few times. Not really my scene.
Dirty fcukers gobbing over each other. Wearing all that bondage crap and Mohawk hair cuts with s***e loads of hair spray.
They should all have been taken to have their hair cropped and supplied with proper boots and braces and turned into skinheads.

Pat T as far as I can remember was and still is a skinhead.

The punk scene had to happen as all the disco type s***e was around at the time and was all getting very bollox. Ie tiffanys

Paul get down to the Palace next season mate and stay out off trouble.
