Edited by Willo (09 Jun 2017 11.15pm) It was a victory in the sense that it effectively put the handbrake on Theresas manifesto shambles. They can't be nasty anymore First parliamentary session there should be a call for a vote of no confidence. Will Theresa be there as PM?

Not lies at all. What was lies was telling the electorate that they could spend £48Billion whilst recouping it from just 5% of the population and a 19-26% increase in 'Corporation Tax'.A plethora of pledges which they knew they could not honour.Economic chaos. I wish some of our 'Big Hitters' had concentrated on this during the campaign.Fantasy economics just weren't really exposed. was the cameron, osborne and boris uber corruption story in the daily mail true to then willo?

It's ironic that so many on here call the young brainwashed and deluded yet seem to find it hard to conceive that continued politics of austerity and tax cuts for the wealthy will inevitably lead to the emergence of Corbyn type figures who can end up seriously threatening the status quo. Corbyn stopping Mays majority is a direct result of the Tories indifference over the past 7 years. But hey maybe you're all too blind and naive to see that.

People in NI will be more interested in issues related to Brexit such as the border control situation and the economics of the exit. The terrorist mob are not the majority of the population. There's Theresa banging on about not wanting to send our country back to the 1970s only to succeed in taking us back a decade earlier if not also back to the 1600s. Oh, the irony!

Some of the 'older' posters on here are clearly jealous of other people's youth and the opportunities they have today, simple as that. They make up the selfish group who pushed through the brexit referendum not giving a damn about the prospects of the younger generations. A truly sad situation which I've never seen in the many other European countries I've lived in, where they focus on supporting their young people because they realise they are the future. "Austerity" as you put it to try and reduce the defecit and get finances under control in order to have a strong economy.I would have understood this even if it was Labour who was going down this path but alas they just believe in tax and SPEND,SPEND,SPEND with precious little thought for whether the increased expenditure is being spent wisely. As for "Tax cuts for the rich" this does make me laugh when the rich pay the higher rate and as such already contribute a great deal to the coffers. Besides under the Conservatives the amount one can earn before paying tax has been going up and up, now going up to £12,500 and this of course helps ordinary families on lower incomes. As for "Tory indifference over 10 years", let's not forget that there was a coalition Government between 2010 and 2015 where compromises have to be made with one's coalition partners. And such "Indifference" has led to record numbers in employment. At the end of the day, the election was NOT a victory for Labour as is being portrayed - they fell short by nearly 60 seats and there is still a Conservative PM in 'No 10'.
