There are reasons why Zaha's time in Manchester didn't work out. Reasons which have not put other clubs off trying to sign him and willing to pay huge amounts to do so. United also didn't think he was going to be a flop either did they? Or they wouldn't have inserted a 25% sell on agreement (something they do not do very often). not sure about that - for England and Man U he did not know where to go to receive the ball, we put it on a plate for him, he's improved positionally but it's not certain he would thrive when he is not the star - depends which big club he ends up at

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle You can understand why Parish held out for 80 million as the net income would be 60 million due to Man United's sell on clause. So that is understandable (altho' not to Zaha) Now it is up to the manager to persuade him to prove he is worth that much before the January window. The biggest disaster in our transfer business is to sell AWB without making a replacement the No.1 priority - absolutely unbelievable.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I sincerely hope not! It would send a very divisive message to the rest of the squad who have grafted through pre season that any player (not specifically Wilf) can waltz into the first team without doing the hard yards required by others. I’m sure Roy wouldn’t be that stupid!

Who’s tried to sign him? 2 clubs put in bids, one was half of the asking price, the other a bit more than half. Not exactly a bidding war I think Sane is better, even if they are the same he has 5 years on Zaha. Zaha would get less than half of the ball at top clubs than at Palace , none at Liverpool, City or Tottenham apart from the league cup. All of our players want to pass the ball to him anytime that they can, at the top clubs he wouldn’t be the preferred choice.

Quite correct.Parish is clearly out of his depth and has come out of this episode totally discredited. For goodness sake, do you know what the word "integrity" means? According to one definition, it means "having strong moral principles". Does that apply to someone who signs a lucrative long-term contract and sees nothing wrong in trying to renege on it just a year later?
