If a European club comes in with a loan or loan to buy offer, even now I would let him go.

His putting in a transfer request and (it appears ,) active consideration of Evertons offer points not to 'I want Champions League football,' but to I want more money which clearly we will not sanction.

A demotivsted Wilf and conjecture from now about if/when/where he will go in 4 months time is an unnecessary distraction.

The guy has done wonders but with his head now turned, no looking back

Quite correct.Parish is clearly out of his depth and has come out of this episode totally discredited.
Wilf,on the other hand,if he performs to the highest level, can coe out of this mess with great credit and his integrity in tact,in readiness for a move to Chelsea in January.

Roy’s said Wilf will be considered for selection v Everton. I hope he gets his head down and shows the likes of Arsenal why they should be parting with £80 million for him.

Tbh I’m not sure if Parish has handled it badly or not. What was he supposed to do? Sell Wilf for £52 mil?

The Zaha continues and isn’t over until he’s sold and replacements are bought.

Sarr didn’t sign for Watford until after Palace announced on the final day that Zaha wasn’t going to be sold.

He should have made it clear to Wilf and any purchasing club that this is the amount and more importantly this is the final date of completion, for example 3 weeks before the deadline, then we wouldn't be in the state we are now

I would imagine Parish probably did make that clear.. However that doesnt stop Wilf having a hissy fit

Or clubs making bids or all manner of shyte coming out in the press.

All 3 parties share some of the finger pointing. I just don’t know which deserves more, but if you include Wilf’s muggy mates in that then I’d say it’s them.

Parish is the boss, he holds all the cards, he should have used the media better to tell his demands, he F++ked up. its not rocket science.

Im just gonna throw this out there, it may have (most probably) been mentioned already. Apparently the club asked Wilf to hand in a transfer request so they dont have to pay the rather hefty loyalty bonus they'd owe him if sold. Business is business and as much as i know he wants to leave at some point, it may have been coincidental the timing of evertons revised interest and the statement re transfer request. He'll go soon enough, but no way am i convinced everton were evergoing to be his preferred suitors

You may have missed the entire English sport media intent on Zaha going to a big club. Parish may have viewed that as poking the hornets’ nest. By keeping quiet you could argue hexlet the circus continue without any quotes or anything concrete apart from 1 or 2 Arsenal bids and one Everton bid. As much as Parish deserves criticism for certain football matters, he was up against the media, Wilf and his mugs and anyone else out there plus those I’ve just mentioned working in combination with each other to force Parish when bids were well short of the asking price.

What would Parish do if he said Zaha wasn’t for sale with 3 weeks left and then with days or hours left, Zaha hands in the transfer request and the interested party meets Parish’s valuation? In that case the club has to sell but Zaha loses his loyalty bonus and therefore Parish’s only victory is that with a sale he has no power to stop.

This isn’t a computer game or clear cut as say this and that’s it. It’s a sh1tty business and always has been.

We should only be concerned with when he goes that we’re ready to replace him straight away, and of course he performs in the meantime, which I reckon he will. He wants to move, not hate playing for us.

You don't sell him, The media can be tool to use for yourself as well as being harmful, if he had stated his intensions for the club in my opinion it would have stopped a lot of the lies spouted. and made his position clear, I think my opinion was he wanted to sell, but didn't get the money he wanted that is why he let it drag on. only my opinion.
