Classic Tory tactic. Let them go more left wing and implode. They are too blinkered with being more 'socialist' or 'progressive' than their peers to care about the implications of their actions. Also, the HoL 'progressive alliance' seem more interested in being 'vindicated' about their beliefs than the actual outcome of the effects of the politics they promote. What does that tell you? It isn't BS....There were empty seats but it was a busy train. It's a situation where both sides don't come out well....Corbyn's side a bit worse because they started it.

June 09 2017 Indeed. Read the thread. Many many said the labour vote would collapse under Corbyn. Much ridicule and jollity was had. Right up to where the exit poll was released and then the ridiculours felt ridiculous, but they couldn't say they got it wrong. They blamed young voters and demeaned a generation. I can't remember the excuse for Labour soaking up most of the UKIP vote, even though according to many on here they wouldn't because they alienated the working class vote. Still kidding yourself that you are still right, that's a lot easier than admitting you might have been wrong. Yes I felt vindicated. Still do. I've always espoused a left of centre viewpoint. To see someone with a similar outlook quite close to power feels great. Especially with the Tories all over the shop.

Lefties care more about being vindicated than being right. Sentiment is enforced.

My sister voted Labour but she doesn't think much of yours or his views. She just isn't a Tory or Liberal. Corbyn being pro Brexit just about made it over the line for her but hopefully when I get to show her your 'vindicated' post and show her what she is encouraging she will finally come to her senses. Edited by Stirlingsays (24 Aug 2017 11.04pm) People said Corbyn would wipe labour out in the election. It didn't happen, in fact the party has galvanised. Which is the complete opposite of what you and others kept spouting in the run up to the election. Why would I not be vindicated?

The definition of vindicated: "show or prove to be right, reasonable, or justified" I love reading your posts. Its like we have our very own (if less educated) Homer Simpson.

But without being pro Brexit it's unlikely Labour would have had the same level of support and this is a policy that most of its grass root supporters are vehemently against. You are a cultural marxist Nick. Most Labour voters aren't. But if you want to feel vindicated along the lines of what you said there.....well, enjoy.
