Dipping into this thread makes me remember why I rarely post now. The only issue regarding Parliament that anyone should be concerned with is that neither of the main parties are fit to run this country. They are bitter self loathing delusions who hate anyone doing better than them, even if they bare doing quite well themselves. There are even some leftists who claim that Brexit was the best trick ever played on the so called working class. As if the unelected globalists in Brussels care a damn about the average person. I think they will discover that the best trick ever played was to persuade people that mass immigration was good for them. There is little chance of the Lords being replaced since it is far better for Labour to fill it with Labour Peers. It's not worth discussing.
The only way to salvage something is an electable third alternative. The current choice is unacceptable.

This thread and a few others like it remind me of the Mad Hatter's Tea Party with a small number of people promulgating the same arguments throughout a large number of pages and when the clock strikes three they all swap seats and continue with the same old arguments. I'm not sure who the dormouse is, possible me

Would you be so kind as to provide a few links because I see exactly the opposite. The loudest voices I experience come from people who hold views not too dissimilar to your own, so seeing some balance would be valuable. Neither have I read that Brexit was the best trick ever played on the working class but thanks for the thought. It’s so true. They were duped by the time worn promise of jam tomorrow and the spectre of imaginary bogey men like “unelected globalists”. No-body has even tried to persuade people that “mass immigration” was good for them. Some people recognise that in a changing world you either adapt or you die. Drawbridges stopped being effective a few hundred years ago.

'Third of Britons think government has done ‘nothing’ well since 2019, poll shows'. Is it possible to do nothing right at all, I mean you would think something would get through, even by accident, and avoid being completely screwed up. But no, and respect is due to the tories. If they were not incompetent, we wouldn't have this thread would we.

Oh god I’m so waiting for your lot to make our lives so much better. Bring on 2024 I say. Although they can blame the tories for about 6 months as that’s normal. After that though they’re on their own

So Labour would have handled the pandemic differently? Would they have sorted out the refugee crisis? NO. They would have been bleedin' useless like they always are. I guess we have to go through the usual cycle whereby people too young to remember the last time they were in get a chance to see how pathetic they are.

How many Tory PMs in 2023, we had three last year. The NHS in ruins while Sunak spends lavishly on No.10 as though anyone voted him there. Now below 20% in the polls.
