All publicity is good publicity, no? We are a pretty hip and happening club, with the coolest name on the planet, the greatest colours in the land and based in the best city in the world. Cristal Pizzle, here we come.

Crystal Palace administrator Brendan Guilfoyle has laughed off suggestions P Diddy is ready to buy the cash-strapped club even though he would be delighted to listen to the rap superstar’s offer. Reports on Thursday claimed P Diddy, aka Puff Daddy and real name Sean Combs, was ready to rescue Palace while his publicity machine did little to dampen speculation the music and fashion mogul is keen to invest in English ‘soccer’. But Guilfoyle insisted he has heard nothing from the Bad Boys Inc president although he left the the door open to an approach. ‘There is no truth in it whatsoever, I wish,’ said Guilfoyle. ‘I am a big hip-hop fan and I would be delighted if P Diddy wanted to buy Crystal Palace. I would welcome an approach and would willingly fly to New York to discuss purchase.’ In todays Mail Edited by wsmrick (19 Mar 2010 9:24am)

I'd rather the club was owned by Bin Laden
It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. - John Bostock (Nov 2007) |

The desperately grasping at straws stage has arrived- what will happen is Diddly Squat. Is he making a bid as well?
The crowd is outstanding, and especially with the penalty after 44 minutes it was clear when we came out after half-time the welcome would be pretty loud and not too friendly. Crystal Palace wanted to strike back, so that was all clear. This is a wonderful place to play football - Jurgen Klopp |

An immediate reaction is that I hope if he is at all serious about buying the club that P Diddy doesn't tune in to this message board and others to read all of the borderline racist comments flying around about 'the homeez.' Not exactly a sales pitch. Pretend that you live in a city in the year 2010, just for fun. I disagree, most big cities in europe in 2010 are multi cultural. Hip hop culture itself is more of a youth thing, irrespective of race now. You're just as likely to see a white, indian, black or whoever kid with their jeans down past their arse giving it the biggun. So when the term 'homey' is used it's more with a reference to hip hop culture than racial culture. It may well be different in the US, but when I think of 'homeys' they could well be any colour of the rainbow.

Or he's got a sense of humour, and for an accountant a very good one (sorry all you accountants on here).
If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all! |
