My above text is obviously based on Roy being given the boot in the coming days ...

Might as well close this thread down now as after this result there is no way they will risk changing manager now. COYP

We had our two best players back against a team with 4 straight losses. We got our second win of the season at home. Perhaps a sense of perspective is needed here.

Both our best players are prone to injury. That needs to be taken into consideration. Because we lose without them.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

I agree, sorry if I celebrated a fine win. We need to deepen the squad, creative players suffer Injuries due to the attentions of far less talented players,Milner is a notable example, i'm sure Zaha would concur.

It's perhaps not quite as simple as that.
Textor is already having an influence on our transfer policy.
Whether you think that's a good or bad thing is a different matter.
Furthermore, with the millions at stake I doubt the investors take the cavalier approach you suggest.

I haven't suggested any approach at all. I merely cast doubt on the media story which interestingly hasn't been picked up by anyone else

Roy handled his post-match presser with aplomb. He was obviously feeling somewhat chipper after our fine win.

One of the questions put to him was on the subject of the rumours circulating about Cooper possibly taking over. Roy told him in no uncertain terms that he found his question disrespectful. Good on him.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

You suggested a scenario of a board meeting where Parish suggested the appointment of Cooper with the other owners responding 'Who is he?'
It seems unlikely that they are not across permutations for a potential future appointment given their hefty financial exposure.
They have board meetings after all and have to sign off significant decisions.
To be as ignorant of possible appointments as you suggest points to a cavalier approach which seems highly improbable.

Parish: (flips coin) "Heads. That means Roy stays, good for him".
Textor: "I thought heads meant Roy goes?"
Parish "No John, we agreed beforehand that heads means that Roy stays".
Blitzer and Harris: "Are we there yet?"

I’d be inclined to sound out Roy for a two-year contract extension.

His experience and wisdom are unrivalled. What is more, his enthusiasm is undimmed.

The young’ uns and newbies will get their chances, but we need to have 40 points on the board first.

And there’s always the F A Cup.

(Incidentally, good to hear his appreciation for the support of the fans. We all like to be appreciated.)
