I suspect I might be on my own here but I was never 100% convinced that Olise really wanted to be at Palace. He seemed not to ever be part of the “family” and not that bothered. He had some fun with Eze and their partnership could have blossomed this season but I wonder without regular game time whether anything similar will be possible at Chelsea. I suspect he might soon feel on the sidelines and having to fight to get noticed doesn’t seem a natural instinct of his. So I worry more for him than I do for us. He will undoubtedly make a lot of money but his career could easily stall. The players going to Saudi are mostly in the last phases of their careers. Olise is in the first of his. Maybe he will be back with his tail between his legs? It happened before! Not on your own WE. Iagree, MO seems a “complex” character and never appeared to fit in. Don’t get me wrong, brilliant player and so glad we had him. I am, however, doubtful that Chelsea was the best move fir him. Personally I always thought he would replace Mahrez at City. He still a work in progress and Chelsea fans won’t have so much patience with him. Can see long spells on the bench and a potentially exciting International career stalling. Might be wrong, time will tell

it is the way of the world, we have made a 300% profit on Olise in a short time, there is a pecking order and there always will be, there are a lot more below us than above us, sad but true, and tapping up players i am sure happens in every transfer, replace, and move on.
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

Would you have the same opinion if it was Eze heading out the door for 300% profit?

It was widely reported weeks ago that he had already agreed terms, it’s been pretty much signed & sealed since then if that’s not tapping up I don’t know what is, you are supposed to get written consent from the club before engaging in dialogue.

Unfortunately I think you are correct I don't see anything happening. Parish is too smart to make it official (we need Chelsea), and also I don't believe it would go anywhere, Firstly, a release clause gives the player the right to leave anytime for a set price. So long as this is secured by Palace, we haven't been short changed as we set the price with Olise. Secondly, Chelsea like Man City are now just too big for the Premier to fight. Forget FFP, Man City have already shown that they can run rings round our spineless officials.

Ultimately we can all try and be philosophical about the profit we've made on him but the reality is that similar quality players are going for 2/3 times as much. Chelsea know that they're getting an absolute bargain, that's why they're doing it. They don't need him.

Starting to really think there isn't any point in the Premier League for us. Why bother if we're just scouts for richer clubs? They've already got benches worth more than we've spent in 50 years. Of course there is, this interest in our squad is hard for many to accept at the moment. In main I suspect because we are not used to it, we never really have anyone that is worth buying.

Their fans will be thrilled when it turns out to be a franchise arrangement and the ChelArseSpurs and LiverCityUnited clear off to their air conditioned stadiums in Kuwait.

Not if they spoke to him first before telling us of their intent. That should be it in simple terms. If we didn’t give permission they couldn’t talk to Olise. and that’s not likely as Chelsea only now call on the clause. Yet the world has known that Chelsea were going to have the boy for the whole window. That being the case it’s not likely Olise did not have a better than most idea of what Chelsea had in mind. The naughty bit for me is Chelsea waiting till now to pull the trigger, in that respect they have definitely taken the piss, only now can Palace stop guessing , and as Chelsea always knew this deal was as good as done, from day one, and Palace didn’t , their motives have to be questioned. Palace should be annoyed. But they won’t get anywhere the Premier league is completely in the hands of the mega money, and I mean completely.
