I was hoping he was going to self combust the pompous two faced git. You are kidding right. When Iain Paisley got booted out for some rant, he went to see the Speaker and personally thanked him. This was a tactic from the same play book. BTW, I am no supporter, but what do you see as his 2 faces?

Leadership is not a popularity contest. Whoever replaces Johnson will have to steer through inflation, fuel prices and the NI proposed increase etc etc. I think we need to look outside the betting. Tugendhat, Baker, Wallace all decent prospects for me. All seem to have integrity and common sense. Yes and already lining himself up.

Out of interest, who do you see as the next potential leader? Rishi Sunak is clear favourite with the bookmakers, with Liz Truss second. That is likely their concern, that despite the damage done, they're not exactly overflowing with leadership material. The same could of course also be said about Labour. I can only see Sunak being the one to take over always assuming that he wants it. After that - it is a poor set of candidates as it is all through politics now.

Ah, you've come round. The point that people are getting exercised by a bit of cake when the Russians are "at the door" is a good one in terms of proportion. However, notwithstanding the critical principle of making the rules and then living within them, as well as displaying honesty and integrity one expects and needs from our senior world leader, there is also the point that this "rabble" made the distraction in the first place. Let's get real here - they are pretty much all corrupt one way or another.

BJ now shouting out rants worthy of a drunk at closing time about Starmer. And lies, to boot.
The prime minister provoked fury by deploying the smear during fiery Commons clashes with the Labour leader, a former Director of Public Prosecutions." (Yahoo)

Blackford being thrown out is the best news of the day so far - I cannot abide that man! Did you actually watch it as whether you like the man or not he was thrown out for claiming that Boris had misled parliament and refusing to retract his statement. Boris clearly has misled parliament and Ian Blackford was quite right to stick to his guns. During Blackford's speech about partying whilst the population were denied from attending their families funerals or visiting dying relatives the cameras cut to Boris who was smirking. I have never voted other than Conservative in all my long life but the sight of Boris smirking at a time when he should have been grovelling was sickening and I would like him out as soon as possible. I couldn't care less if there is no suitable replacement as I just want him out.

I couldn't care less if there is no suitable replacement as I just want him out. This seems to be a very widespread view. Everyone I chat to say much the same, as do the TV interviews, from people of all political persuasions. So the MPs will now have to decide whether leaving him in place for longer will reflect so badly on them that dumping him now, and having a new leader in the limelight for longer during a probably difficult couple of years, is a lesser risk. Piling all the blame on him in 18 months and a fresh face to go into the GE would be the politically wise thing, but will the people accept it? They want to see decency restored. Time for the old order to step back in. Time for Hunt!
