The message is that they have to spend time and effort driving to Selhurst Park, then have to locate a parking space which is not in the vicinity of the ground, walk to the ground in all weathers and then have the long drive home.
A match is an expensive, time consuming activity... why would anyone do it if it's not enjoyable... Roy, for me, as it's his team... has sucked the life out of it... Fact is, parish is losing customers.... it's as simple as that....

The only available evidence shows very clearly that a lot less paying customers turn up in the championship than the Premier league.

The biggest rise and fall in customers coincides with us being in the premier league. If we fall out of the prem, there will be a significant reduction in crowds. However, even if we didn’t sell a single season ticket and was in the prem, the club would make substantially more vs a sold out selhurst in the championship. Customers are no longer key to the clubs success. Also, if the club is out of the prem, the chances of picking up any of the games at all will be reduced. The club has tried expansive football under Pardew and FdB. I think 2016 we picked up the least amount of points out of all 92 teams and under FdB, we lost all our games without scoring.

In the PL our matchday income amounts to give or take 10% of our total income.

A couple of my family members, who have held their seats for decades, aren't renewing season tickets because they don't find it enjoyable any more. Even the social side of Selhurst match days isn't enough to justify the boring football and lack of wins and goals at home. It has ground them down over the last few years and they've come to the conclusion that there are better ways for them to spend their time and money. It's a sorry state of affairs and not a decision they've taken lightly. Yeah someone else will probably fill their seats, but I'm sure they're not the only ones who are feeling like that.

Say if Howe did get the job and the football turned out to be even less easy on the eye and we got relegated, would you blame Howe or the lack of investment in the team? It’s a hypothetical question I know, but the football we are playing is not entirely Roy’s fault. Edited by The Dolphin (04 Apr 2021 8.17am)
