Once again, they didn’t ‘bring a knife along’ to any movie, as they weren’t there to see a movie. Don’t let facts get in the way though. “The Nottingham cinema had been showing the Rapman-directed movie around the time the stabbing was reported, but the incident has not been linked to the showing with police describing it as "isolated".” wonder what the knife crime rate was at cinemas before a couple of weeks ago? I don’t seem to remember many knife and machete incidents in the news. Maybe there’s a reason or excuse.

Genuine question. I’m far from convinced there is a link, would be my honest answer. I don’t know what crime rates at cinemas are like generally, but I’d imagine they’re fairly regular given cinemas are a relatively insecure, late night venue which kids can access. The brawl in Birmingham was obviously something way outside of normal, but we’re talking about 100 kids brawling in what is essentially a shopping centre (that also happens to host a cinema) - I’ve seen similar in Whitgift and Stratford Westfield - I don’t see any link to the film. You can see how easy the link is to make though and how it happens so quickly; just look at the phrasing of your question - “many incidents of violence at the cinema” - what that really means is there was one brawl, which people tried to attribute to this film, and now every incidient at a cinema where this film is playing (which is every cinema in the country) there’s a nice scapegoat to use, as we see in the link above - neither participant saw the film, said anything about the film, the police dismiss the link, but the Newspaper headline does the complete opposite and people lap it up because it sits a narrative.

I would be interested to know the crime rates, certainly. It couldn’t be that this one only made the news because of a larger, preceding story just a week earlier? The news would never work like that.

when 90% of the immigration into the country is male you get a lopsided gender balance (overly male) living in the country
(nothing to do with Movies )

(nothing to do with Movies ) Yep, and encouraging an idea to youth that all sexuality is of equal utility means that more females choose bisexuality, as percentage wise they are less straight than men.....thus lowering the birth rate yet further, and providing more competition for males. More competition for males in an environment where 80 percent of the males compete for 20 percent of the women most of the time.....Due to a little known statistical evolutionary reality. Policy based on 'feels' for a small minority of the population...which you make a little larger, which is actually in detriment for wider society as a whole. As well as lowering the birth rate it probably leads to a small increase in male violence.

Young men commit more crimes and violent crimes than older men. Nothing to do with where they come from but if you increase the population of young males it is reasonable to assume that the crime rate goes up. If we imported thousands of elderly people no one would be surprised that the NHS would be overwhelmed so why be surprised at the consequences of importing young men.

I would imagine that economic internationalists have no issues with importing young males because economically they work more years and earn more. However, there are lots of different negatives that come along with that......However, if you're just looking at the economic figures and live in a nice area with relatively filtered people....You might care less about it.

Probably first time I disagree with in the few weeks I’ve noticed you posting a fair bit. People from violent and war torn countries come here and/or without family structure in their culture, as do people and families without those issues.

It’s now essentially in a shopping centre because the cinema is in a shopping centre? Ok. How close to the popcorn kiosk and entrance or time to the film in question will you think there might be something in this? Have any links for any knife and machete fights before this film? I doubt there would be no links or reports if there were any. Hardly the kind of thing that isn’t reported anywhere.

If we’re going to blame a film, I’d suggest seeing it would be the basic requirement.

The film has nothing to do with these gangs doing their usual but bringing their trouble where families go for leisure/entertainment.
