Correct me if I am wrong but if Stoke lose to Liverpool on Saturday at the 12:30pm k/o then regardless of our result they can't catch us unless they beat us 5-0 then beat Swansea 3-0 and we dont pick up another point. That then just leaves Southampton who can then catch us but before they catch us, Swansea, Huddersfield & West Ham would be caught first as they are below us. It would take a real set of bizarre results now for us to be caught. The fact that Swansea still have to play Stoke & Southampton means the 3 teams below us somewhere will be dropping points if not all of them if they draw that the leaves Swansea with Chelsea & Bournemouth to play. Plus we will get another 3 points between now and the end so I dont really understand all the panic. I was confused at our odds to go down but having looked at the fixtures it makes sense - as you say given that both Saints and Stoke have to play Swansea either side winning almost relegates the other - given that our GD is greater than all three.

I think Swansea v southampton and swansea v stoke will be draws. If that happens then the chances of relegation are so remote that its not even worth thinking about. As it is, Stoke need a miracle to overtake us and Southampton would need a trully inspired turnaround. Even then a win against anyone would kill that of and we now look hard to beat when we play crap!

I know the board tends to be worriers but we should be looking up - not down We are playing as well as anyone in botttom half - have probably our best X1 (bar Ward) playing and have easiest run in. Plus we are points to the good Heck. We even stopped Watford's record Premier League sequence for scoring at home at 12

They all have tough run in's aswell; Soton; Stoke; Swansea; Huddersfield; West Ham; ------------ I reckon after this Saturday's games you will probably know that we are safe. I think Stoke are gone - If they lose to Liverpool as well basically means our game is all or nothing for them and they won't be able to catch us either way. If we match Hudderfields result on Saturday it means they then have to pick up more points in that horrid run in. Saints are probably the team that could climb out of it but they still have to win Sat - then win away and get a draw in the two games before they play City on final day. I agree. Can't see Saints being so poor again next season. However as long as it's not us I don't care who it is at the end of the day. Brighton and/or Huddersfield plus the 2 promoted clubs that aren't Wolves will be favourites for relegation I imagine, plus Swansea if they don't go down. Wolves are generally good for a relegation spot.

west brom took 4 points from champions-league teams this month, including a visit to Old Trafford. but happily its all too little too late. Livermore pretty much said the reason they are in the trouble they are in without saying it, in his post match interview on Saturday. Eveything he said pretty much intimated that they have been Pardewed. Giving away leads and not being able to see out games(due to lack of fitness). And funnily enough it now seems that they do have the quality to compete in this league. What a coincidence. Feel for the WBA fans, been proper mugged by their board.

Wolves are generally good for a relegation spot. Some pundits tipping them for 7th. Decent side and will spend money. I doubt they will go down. Sky bet have them at longer odds than Newcastle and Burnley to go down next season.

You have to take the odds for next seasons relegation with a pinch of salt. Given that this season hasn’t even ended yet.

Not to go too far off-topic but I don't know much about Wolves, are they a sugar-daddy club now? Without knowing much about them, I'd find it hard to believe that 7th is a realistic target next season. They'd need to be able to buy about 6 or 7 top Prem class players and that would cost a fortune. I've never known them as a spending club.

we will need a fantastic summer not to be deep in the relegation mix ourselves. especially if Wilf goes. who's obviously weaker than a wilf-less palace.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |
