really think they'll do a lot better than that.

There was incorrect information from West Sussex Police and this is deeply embarrassing for them. One suspects they will deal with this internally.

But there were other issues which were raised, like numerous ticketless fans, pyrotechnics, flares etc etc so one shouldn't assume that our fans were totally blameless on the night.

One suspects nothing of the f***ing sort. They have peddled their lies, snuck out a quiet apology after the dust had settled and will now carry on behaving in the same outrageous way as if nothing had happened.

I'm pretty sure the fans who were kettled and missed the game were totally blameless. Why should they get punished because of six people who committed arrestable offences? Five of whom BTW turned out to be weed. Why should they miss matches on the pretext that the police made up a pack of lies about knuckledusters and knives?

Proof that Sussex Police won't deal with this internally or otherwise is given by today's news about the ticket allocation for the FA Cup match and its scheduling.

This is a cadre that covered up one of its greatest outrages and was only outed after 27 years of hard work, determination and expense by the families of nearly 100 football fans that they killed. Why you trust people like that to "deal with it internally" confuses me completely.

Rob and the gang at Five year plan have done amazing work on this.
Asking questions of Sussex Police & BHAFC on events of the night, timelines, who reported what to who and why, together with evidence requests which lead to the apology over the Knives and knuckle dusters incident.
They have now followed this up by filing FOI requests to obtain further information between BHAFC, Independent Contractors and Sussex Constabulary to glean more truths into what actually happened that night, who reported what to who and when.
So stand by!
I suggest everyone buys the bumper Issue 50 of the Five Year Plan-(celebrating 25yrs of issues) which will be available at the Bournemouth match by way of support for their excellent work on this.

Yeah, they have done, Pierre. Very commendable and definitely deserve something in return for their hard work.

I'm amazed that this police chief gets away with this s***e.

"We confiscated knuckle dusters."

"No, I never said that. It was someone else."

"Oh, er, OK, it'll delete my tweet. Are you happy now?"

How can he tell such blatant lies and not be ashamed of himself?

It's completely unprofessional.

He's not even a good liar.

How can anyone so incompetent be a chief inspector? What must the people below him be like?

What else are they covering up?
I suspect there's a load more to come if people continue to probe the police & Brighton stewards.

A steward on the night told me that the door was left open by a steward going for a fag as the game had started.

As you will see at the start of this thread...i was told similar by the police after the game...it still doesn't absolve those trying to force their way in...but then who's to say they didnt have tickets ...it could've been that they simply didnt want to be searched as there was a long queue.

It simply comes down to a shambles between Brighton and Sussex Police...blaming each other for the mess and those that didnt go swallowing what was reported verbatim rather than taking on board various personal accounts from those of us that went and were there.
