Time to resurrect this one I think. I understand the concerns (twice relegated - poor last year), but he's still only 23 and undoubtedly has talent. We've also got a recent history of getting the best out of our CB's (see Dann, Delaney, Gabbidon etc). Obviously price dependent but would love to see him sign. I tend to agree with this. Obviously a risk, but one I think is probably worth taking.

He is not quite in the Helga Hreidesson class of relegated players. Signing him the footballing equivalent of the "black spot" in treasure Island

Anyway. I'm not against Caulker. Was good prior to the last two farcical sides he's played for - and still young. Plus £8m for us now is not quite the audacious sum of cash that it was. I'd imagine a figure nearer £5-6m is more realistic anyway. While I'll admit he has potential, the relegations aren't going to have put his value up.

Latest from SSN Steven Caulker has handed QPR a boost by stating he will be at the club next season. Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ, he said: “At the moment I’m staying at QPR. I’m settled there and there’s a much more positive vibe this year. Everyone’s feeling confident ahead of the season and we’re looking to go on and do good things. “I can’t assure them because things change but as it stands I’ll be at QPR.”
