However, you can see that the Democrat's base have moved so far to the left that Sanders has had to move with them. Not that I think the socialism would work anyway but I had time for some of the things the younger Sanders was saying....though as Sanders is older than Noah that's not saying much. Perhaps he is trying to get back to that stuff. Edited by Stirlingsays (02 Dec 2019 4.10pm) Agreed. I'm not for open borders. I will use fairness instead of equality so there is no confusion. I understand that the money you make you want to keep and want to pay as little tax as possible, but, a few problems could be helped by just having everyone paying their % in tax, not a £ amount, but the % amount. There is so much money in offshore accounts, which doesn't do anything. It's not in the economy. I don't think socialism will work either, at least in the next few centuries. I like capitalism, but I like to have a safety net, such as free healthcare and pensions and schools. We've had huge tax cuts since the 80s and the issue is that to get all this stuff you have to pay for it, so, in my opinion taxes need to rise, but politically, no one is going to do that and if they did, then imagine how p'd off everyone would be with the Googles and Camerons of the World that don't pay their taxes.

Before Trump did his massive tax cuts I was open minded about it. There was a lot of disaster predicting that didn't occur and while I accept all the criticisms centered around how modern day capitalism is actually working and its impracticalities....I think Trump's done well. Well, in truth I'm still open minded about it....just more cynical about economists.....Anyway low tax doesn't mean it's the only way and theoretically I have no issues with taxing the top end higher. However, the problem has always been the same...What works better for jobs and hence tax intake...because without that, well policies can only be funded on borrowing....which is no better than the current situation. How can you target that top percent without scaring the pigeons and losing wealth investment. I'm not so sure that can be done. I'm not sure what investment is under Trump but I'd imagine it's gone up significantly. It's all very well for some to go on about the injustices of the top one percent but it's about the business environment, which is itself about confidence that they can make money. Common sense tells you that you can only tax the rich higher if what they are getting for it keeps them there. As I say though....In principle I have no issues with the concept....If it worked. Seems to have deleted his account. Shame, I quite liked him.

So I learned about roaches, I learned about kids jumping on my lap and I love kids jumping on my lap' I don't know whether we should be laughing or starting an investigation. How strange. It's of course bit of a cliche to accuse the countless 70 plus aged presidential candidates, or indeed presidents, of being senile. With Biden though they perhaps have a point.
