I would rather Parish be in charge of balancing the finances of the club ..look at some of the idiots we have before who nearly cost us the existence of our club.

Fixed that for you. Lost our right back and our striker with no replacements. Unless you think we've got big plans to play McCarthy up front and fit Gary Cahill with bionic legs so that he can play as a PL right back, we are objectively underequipped.

We have lost Wan Bissaka which I agree is a bit loss but no other outgoings will damage the squad..the players we have bought in are better than those that have gone...

And we can still sign out of contract players and there are a few of them out there that could do a good job for us.

It may be fanciful but I recall the first premier league season when the first game was against Blackburn who made approaches for Geoff Thomas pre season and completely unsettled him. No interest pursued after the game.

What chances that Everton have done the same? Wilf is almost certainly out of the squad for Saturday. Making offers that are not likely to be accepted at the last minute is a lot easier than trying to nullify him during the game. Perhaps he has been used. Doubtless we will see if they come back in January.

I got vision, and the rest of the world wears bifocals.

The media is now claiming that Zaha has been informed that he can leave in the January window so we don’t have to wait long until the whole saga starts again...
So be it, but I just wish we had got a replacement in now as a basic planning measure.

Wilf get your transfer request in nice and early next time and get some decent advisors, as the ones you have got haven’t got a scooby...

What will the mood be on the terraces on Saturday.
Wilf wants away and we have to respect that. All part of modern football.
SP has given WZ ambition a major knock, but hopefully not a knock out.
Every player with ambition has the right to move on and in my view, Parish has seriously cocked up on this one. WZ has way more ambition than is being exhibited by our board for our club. Due to his talent there are clubs out there like Everton and Arsenal whose ambitions are in a different league to our board. Not letting Wilf go to Everton when their offers were half decent if you believe the press was a mistake. Not managing Wilf's exit from May onwards was a derelict of duty to all parties.
We are appearing unprofessional and almost out of our depth at managing our affairs at this level. I sincerely hope there is a change of heart, ownership and ambition in the near future. The board have done an incredible job for CPFC to bring us this far, but just like with Wilf, I believe they have run their course and it is now time for a change.

Slightly easier to stop the sale of Zaha when AWB has just been sold compared to spending £15-20 mil on a long term right back which is what anyone interested in the football team would do.

This transfer window, along with the others, has opened my eyes to the reality that we aren't a dead cert Premier League team. We're substantially smaller than most, even the likes of Watford.

From my extremely little knowledge we have no strategy for the next 18 months let alone 5 years. I guess humbling would be the word after the way we've conducted ourselves this summer.

It's quite miraculous we've made it this far, and if it wasn't for our youth spewing out the odd gem and overpaying on the odd Jan window, I don't think our 6 year stint would have lasted so long.

I've been a supporter for 23 years, but i'm sure there's many on here that have seen it all for a lot longer and know we've been through some tough times.

I may just be going through the acceptance phase and ignore if this read winds you up, but come Saturday we go again, and we're a lot stronger club than the rest of the footballing community gives us credit for.

You’re optimistic. We’ll start looking for a replacement on the 30 January to try and save money and not get anyone in.
