If the spreadsheets were of such importance why didn’t we accept a lower offer for Wilf..and as for the squad, it is a fact that it is weaker than last year.. Fixed that for you. Lost our right back and our striker with no replacements. Unless you think we've got big plans to play McCarthy up front and fit Gary Cahill with bionic legs so that he can play as a PL right back, we are objectively underequipped.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle We have lost Wan Bissaka which I agree is a bit loss but no other outgoings will damage the squad..the players we have bought in are better than those that have gone...

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle It may be fanciful but I recall the first premier league season when the first game was against Blackburn who made approaches for Geoff Thomas pre season and completely unsettled him. No interest pursued after the game. What chances that Everton have done the same? Wilf is almost certainly out of the squad for Saturday. Making offers that are not likely to be accepted at the last minute is a lot easier than trying to nullify him during the game. Perhaps he has been used. Doubtless we will see if they come back in January.
I got vision, and the rest of the world wears bifocals. |

If the spreadsheets were of such importance why didn’t we accept a lower offer for Wilf..and as for the squad,it is of your opinion that it is weaker than last year.. Slightly easier to stop the sale of Zaha when AWB has just been sold compared to spending £15-20 mil on a long term right back which is what anyone interested in the football team would do.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This transfer window, along with the others, has opened my eyes to the reality that we aren't a dead cert Premier League team. We're substantially smaller than most, even the likes of Watford. From my extremely little knowledge we have no strategy for the next 18 months let alone 5 years. I guess humbling would be the word after the way we've conducted ourselves this summer. It's quite miraculous we've made it this far, and if it wasn't for our youth spewing out the odd gem and overpaying on the odd Jan window, I don't think our 6 year stint would have lasted so long. I've been a supporter for 23 years, but i'm sure there's many on here that have seen it all for a lot longer and know we've been through some tough times. I may just be going through the acceptance phase and ignore if this read winds you up, but come Saturday we go again, and we're a lot stronger club than the rest of the footballing community gives us credit for. This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle You’re optimistic. We’ll start looking for a replacement on the 30 January to try and save money and not get anyone in. Originally posted by PatrickA
