Interesting. I wonder if the same applies to nicotine gum? No doubt more will come to light over time regarding how to best protect ourselves. Yes, it’s the nicotine that appears to reduce the effects of covid not the tar. Originally it was expected smokers would be worse affected, the tar flattens lung cilia Edited by Mapletree (18 May 2020 11.24pm)

I've read of a few cases of workers put on the government furlough scheme by their employers, being told that unless they also continue to work they'll be let go. If what you say is correct, hopefully they're at the front of the queue. A report last week says 100s of employees have grassed up their bosses for this exact thing and good on them.

He was furloughed but then told that if he didn’t return as a volunteer, there probably wouldn’t be a job for him when courses reopened. He went back as he enjoys the job and would struggle to find anything else

I'm not sure that they really know as much of it seems to be just guesswork. Originally we were told that diabetics were at high risk now it seems that it's obese diabetics with the obesity being more of a problem. Blood cancers allegedly causes higher risk yet looking on the website of the blood cancer that I have and there is no mention of us being at higher risk

That's a very dangerous game to play as the employer could be reported by not only the brother of your son's girlfriend but by his girlfriend, your son or even you who are all in on the scam

Has it been noticed that Asian and black people seem to be more susceptible in catching covid 19 and also have more chance of being caught breaking lock down rules. They are also the cultures who spit and snot-blow outdoors as a means of clearing any phlegm, which I presume would also be helpful in spreading the virus.

Proof of the latter? With blacks asians calling in saying police target minorities. I'm saying that maybe their not as inclined to follow the rules so catch covid 19 more readily and get arrested more. If only Britain could be Pam Ewing and wake up to find Bobby Ewing in the shower and realise the whole last two months has been some bad dream.

If vitamin D deficiency is a major factor it occurs to me that culturally some in the BAME community cover up all the time e.g. Muslim women. This is not a race rant more an observation we don't have the facts and BAME is too broad a group to identify who is really at risk. A friend pointed out that in the Caribbean the rates have been quite low which is surprising since their medical facilities are not as good. However if sunlight plays a big part then that would explain it as you can't really avoid it.
