Benefit of hindsight WZ and SP should have inserted a Transfer value at which Wilf could opt to leave. So far he has not attracted any Champions league clubs in UK which is what he said he wanted.
There have been some noises from Europe but nothing formal.
He and SP need to agree a figure he can leave at and stick to it.
My opinion is in reality he will probably attract £60-70 million.
However he may have to accept moving to a club that he will help secure Champions League status. As that definitely won't be us, he is now obviously determined to get away. Never a good player to have in a team.
However to attract the best teams where he obviously feels he can go, he is going to have to display a standard of skill, maturity and consistency which has so far eluded him.
Its a super tough call for him to achieve in his current mood, but never say never.
He now needs to take a deep breath, carefully consider his position and get on with delivering the highest possible standards showing the football world just how good he really is.
Its a tough challenge and will be a big test for Wilf. If he pulls it off, we can all still go away happy.
In the meantime SP needs to line up replacements giving him until January to be ready to buy them in. Similarly, based on his recent history that might well be a tough call.!
Challenging times ahead. I really hope we pull it off, but I won't hold my breath.

He's contracted for five years on mega bucks. The club have the right to hold him to that.
As for he has the right to demand the club accept below market value to give him what he wants? Moronic. If a buyer applied the same logic when you were selling your house you'd soon sing a different tune.

As for leaving to better himself? It's Everton, not Real Madrid.

Bringing that Judas c*** Wright into it was the cherry on the cake.

He didn't 'demand' that we accept a lower price. He asked us to, in recognition of his long and excellent service. The club was right to decline, but that doesn't mean he was wrong to ask.

Everton aren't real Madrid, but they are bigger, richer and in a far better position to get European football than us.

That judas Wright? Quite possibly (perhaps apart from Zaha) our best ever player you mean? Or have you forgotten that bit?

I think Zaha needs to wise up. Maybe he isn't wanted as much as he thinks. Only one top six club came in for him and only offered a derisory amount. When he came to the crunch, Arsenal were prepared to spend the big money on Pepe rather than him.

As for Everton, not only are they not in the CL but not even in the Europa League. Wolves are in Europe and didn't want him.

Not even any concrete interest from abroad.

Given AWB went for 50M and Maguire for 75-80m, Palace asking for that much seems justified, otherwise we are selling ourselves short.

Zaha is completely within his rights to ask for a transfer, and even to ask the club to accept a lower offer to allow that to happen. He's only asking. It doesn't make him 'disloyal' (whatever the hell that even means in this context), or erase the huge amount he has done for CPFC in his career to date. Crucially, it doesn't prohibit him continuing to do excellent work for us in the future either.

Plainly, and perfectly reasonably, he wants to play at the top of the game, feels he can do that, and that he has done all he can for and at Palace. Hard to disagree with any of that, just like it was hard to disagree with Ian Wright when he came to similar conclusions back in the day. Anyone saying it's about earning more money hasn't been paying attention: Zaha gives significant sums out of every wage packet to charities in the UK and Ivory Coast, which is a funny way to be greedy.

This is the transfer window, and he is at his peak. He will only have these circumstances coincide a handful of times in his life. In two or three short years his dream will be over forever. Of course it will affect him emotionally. Quite why it should affect any of us that way is beyond me. Some of the comments on here amaze me. Just take a moment to remember: This is not your wife/husband/partner telling you they want to leave you for someone else.

The only good thing about Wilf’s transfer request was that it was only 24 hours of him declaring he wants out so not that long of wondering what we’ll do with very little time left, even though I was getting a bit interested in who we’d buy.

Maybe that was the aim. Just to panic Parish and a game of bluff calling ensued. Whichever it was, Wilf’s cronies are a bunch of cvnts I’m sure others would like to join me in showing them what’s thought of them. If it wasn’t for Wilf they’d be nothing, and they’re doing a sh1t job for him anyway.

None of us should deny Wilf the opportunity to better himself by wanting to play for another club..especially in the champion league.
The price that the club was expecting for his sale would have been known by Wilf....the failure of any club to table a bid that met the clubs valuation meant he must of known he was staying.
If it was Éverton then they have moved on by signed Awobi.
This may leave the way open for Wilf to make his dream move to Arsenal in January.
So for me it is a no brainier,he must now knuckle down and make sure that he is still a sellable asset in January so that Arsenal come calling again, this time with an acceptable offer for his services.
Let’s hope that we can put some points on the board before he leaves and when he does give him our best wishes and thanks for the fantastic service he has given our club.
Meanwhile..we have a couple of good youngsters coming through that can support the first team set up in areas we are least strong..I remember a certain young right back being dropped in the first team a couple of seasons ago and look what happened to him!
Don’t you just love being a Palace supporter..I can’t wait for Saturday !.

I don’t know why people think Arsenal are going to come in and offer £80-100 mil without it spread over 5-7 years.

Arsenal’s owners are as bad as ours are currently, just at the other end of the table. Fvck everyone around, try to get anyone who’s cheap or suits our circumstances and walk away from loads of players because of that to the detriment of the team. The squad, contract and wage management is also below the required standard at Palace and Arsenal. Both are in a decline and are happy to be so because the spreadsheets are a priority on everything, even if there’s a sensible long term move that conflicts with the spreadsheets.

If the spreadsheets were of such importance why didn’t we accept a lower offer for Wilf..and as for the squad,it is of your opinion that it is weaker than last year..
I would rather Parish be in charge of balancing the finances of the club ..look at some of the idiots we have before who nearly cost us the existence of our club.

Think you may be in a very small minority if you think the squad is stronger than last year,
