But I did say I never heard about any official approach for Dyche and alluded to the fact that Hodgson was not in contention !

Think it wise to concentrate on the subject matter rather than get embroiled in feuds which de-rail the thread.Very sensible indeed.

"Close but no cigar"? That means "almost but not quite successful" - completely the wrong idiom in this context.

What is NOT important is what I knew or didn't know.
Even less important is "Yours Truly" I can assure you.

I re-iterate I never got any "Running commentary" - alas there were many "Someones" outside of HOL who thought otherwise but alas I was telling the truth.

Let's NOT get into contretemps of this nature which will only de-rail an important thread.Let's get back to the subject matter.
