Mods are the same as everyone else - they just merge and move threads plus card people occasionally. I don't see how you can "speak as a mod" and "speak as yourself", you have one voice and one opinion which has to adhere to the rules.
Well someone has to make decisions and not everyone will agree all the time. Threads are only locked if things are deemed to be getting out of hand which doesn't happen that often. What do you propose instead?

Dont some people take this whole internet message board lark seriously. Its just a bunch of w***ers with a common link amongst millions and millions of other w***ers worldwide with their common links chewing the fat, having a laugh, and doing something to relieve the pounding monotony of work or filling some time inbetween the adverts on Dave..Its pretty relaxed, mainly because the Mods take a pretty relaxed view to stuff and nothing you read or see here will change the world or cause it to spin off its axis and crash into Uranus..... Chill out innit

And as moderators wield power it cannot be said to be a level playing field, where mere mortals pay the ultimate price.

I used to dislike certain posters who have no appreciation of irony whatsoever, but on reflection are needed on here for unintentional comedic value. They should get an award, like a HOL POBO, or something like that.

Spliff & a cuppa tea for breakfast & this made me laugh! great morning already! Well no one moderates the moderators, do they. Penge, I believe, says he speaks with only one voice. How can a 'moderator' say they apply the rules, when some moderators go round slagging people off. Still I shall be moving along shortly. Edited by Dweeb (16 Oct 2009 5:15pm)

One solution could be to have moderators post anonymously under a different account eg Admin1, Admin 2 etc then it's not personal?

a good suggestion by Penge. However, if this was seriously going to be condidered, I think it would be better if all moderators posted under one account called ADMIN. The Mass Debate of 2009 will all be a distant memory soon and we can all have a big hug/orgy. (or at least a good old w@nk over some posters profile pic's)

peoples posting styles would give it away, staffie would be easy to identify for example. why change something if its not broken?
