I was very much under the impression that was the plan.

From my relatively ignorant and anxious viewpoint however, that plan does not sit well alongside what already looks an incomplete squad to me and my lack of faith we will move for more 'gems' in the Transfer Window or general lack of trust in us getting any reasonable volume of transfers done at all.

I still fear hypothetically that Lerma is a Doucoure replacement as we'll sell him with the board relying upon Richards being fit to fill a Guehi or Andersen size hole, Tomkins being wheeled out of the retirement home occasionally and the money made seemingly going elsewhere. Meanwhile we'll sign the 'Lithuanian Maradona' to replace Zaha who'll spend the season on loan to a third tier Latvian side.

That's just me and my fears however!

I agree and posted something similar on the Odoi thread. I didn't include Colwill as I think there's zero chance of them letting him go. Although I like Broja i think he's gonna be like Wickham and his body is not gonna cope with the rigours of top flight football.

Therefore 40m plus odoi and hall is what I'd ask for. They have money to burn and a squad to shred so think it'd be possible.

Liverpool quite serious about Doucoure but want to pay more like 50mil. I think it's correct enough for us to ask for 70. I'm trying to think if they would give us a player as a make weight on the deal. I can imagine us selling for 60 odd, as being pragmatic, we'd have Lerma and Hughes. Also Francs can play there, apparently - if we do get him. Although if he'll go straight into the side seems questionable to me.

When we signed Lerma I wondered on here could he and CD play together. I am now wondering if Lerma was always the replacement, I hope not.

Assuming you're talking about Wahi, I very much hope we don't go there. Have you seen the Wiki entry on him? - seemingly not a very nice person - not at all someone I want anywhere near Palace.
