No hopes here. He managed on Broadway and the French Riviera. I don't like his appearance. He looks like a gangster. Nothing to do with race, but he reminds me of a big boy. Have absolutely no idea why we chose him. FFS

Just like Jurgen Klopp, when he took over Liverpool then. And Arsene Wenger when he took over Arsenal. And Jose Mourinho when he took over Chelsea. The point is, that's an absolutely vacuous comment. Not having managed in the PL before is absolutely no guide to future success. No guide to future success but we have at times put in a very experienced manager such as Allardyce or Pulis to avoid relegation and remove the uncertainty. Vieira is untried and just a gamble. This post has been merged from a topic called 'That Viera Touch' by becky It has brought some interest for us, and even neutrals. We seem to have signed decent players. I'm not expecting the Earth but think we can stay up and improve next season. It's at least going to be an intriguing season, hopefully entertaining.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'That Viera Touch' by becky PV would not have been my first choice, but hell, what do I know? Having had chance to get used to the idea I think he'll do a good job for us. I'm not sensing any disgruntlement coming from the players during these early days and I agree with other folk saying that his footballing reputation is working in his (and our) favour. Good signings so far and others in the pipeline seem to indicate general support for his style and methods. Should be a lively and entertaining season with a very different approach than we've been accustomed during the last few years. We'll certainly be better to watch than a Steve Cooper team!
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

I'm definately on board with PV. This article that Willo put up says a lot about the man employed to take us forward. It's clear from the way we've played in our friendlies (although I admit I've only seen the highlights!) so far and the positive comments made by various members of the team that his approach, leadership style and training methods are being well received. Steve Parish was very smart to bring him in and, although this coming season probably won't see us in the top ten we should expect to see better football and get better results than we have in the recent past. Eager for the season to start.
