Edited by dazza (20 May 2021 8.47pm) The BBC are reporting that FL has pulled out the race to replace so I guess he will not be our new Manager?

So this guy is another clickbait option - Edin Terzic - been an Assistant Manager everywhere until he took over from Lucien Farve was sacked by Borussia Dortmund and has managed them for 6 month.. Is this a rich man's Dave Bassett? Or a step behind Lampard in terms of experience? He has PL experience, so I think SP would consider him. Edited by pstrutt (21 May 2021 4.34am)

Transfer Tavern is one of the worst clickbait pimps out there as they write a rubbish article and then try and back it up with a few Twitter quotes that they think gives merit to their story

If it is to be an out of work manager like Lampard or Howe - why wait to make an announcement? This was leading my hunch towards a manager currently in another job - Dyche. I’d be happy with this but with SP talking about us moving towards playing more expansive football, I’m now thinking it might be someone else. I’m hoping that doesn’t lead us to Ismail or Cooper at this point in time as I don’t really think either have done enough to serve a shot. Could this be leading towards Scott Parker? Mmmmmm not sure about him either! I have no idea who it will be and am both excited and wary of the new appointment. However as I previously said, it would be bad form to announce a new manager whilst Roy is still in situ imo

You said on the 9th of April that Sean Dyche was buying a house in Beckenham. [Link] Frank Lampard has conducted interviews today stating quite clearly that he is ready to return & open to managing in the Championship. He gains nothing whatsoever doing that if he is already the confirmed manager of Palace. If he becomes the manager of Palace, it doesn't mean anything in relation to you touting the bookies favourite for the job at the time. And nothing has been confirmed yet. Turn it in with this utter bulls***.
But has Lampard really said that or is it click bait? No-one actually knows, well hopefully SP does

They certainly weren't conducted prior to April the 23rd when Dazza first announced Lampard had got the ob. As for your second paragraph, that's kinda my point. I wouldn't mind dazza having a bit of fun and overstating his links at the club. But he has done this during the last few transfer windows and now with the ongoing saga surrounding the manager. And for the life of me I cannot work out why anyone is even taking it the tiniest bit seriously. It's all just a bit tragic. Can I ask how you know interviews weren’t carried out before 23 April? Ismael has managed a bigger team than us in Wolfsburg, took LASK to the the Europa League last 16 after topping a group including Sporting Lisbon and PSV and is arguably the manager of the year in the Championship this season. But sure... Premier League experience. Maybe we could get Pardew back or see if Joe Kinnear is about eh? Edit: Just noticed your comment about Lampard's CV. Now I know you're trolling me. Took a Derby side including Mount and Tomori to 6th, a place below Barnsley finished this season, then Chelsea to ninth after spunking £200m+. Edited by Canterbury Palace (20 May 2021 9.54pm) You should have added that FDB was sacked by Atlanta in the MLS after leaving Palace so he hasn’t done that well! The former Chelsea manager has emerged as the strong favourite to replace Roy Hodgson after holding extensive talks with Palace chiefs. But a Palace source told Football Insider that Lampard has informed the Premier League club that he no longer wants to be considered for the vacant post." So Lampard being the new manager with a 3 year deal looking a bit unlikely now! Football Insider is clickbait, they know as little as we do

Edited by Spiderman (21 May 2021 7.56am) I misread his point about De Boer and thought he was saying Lampard had a better CV so have deleted that bit. However, I agree with you. De Boer simply isn't a particularly good manager on the most recent evidence and it's little to do with his lack of experience. I'd even chuck in Potter as another example. Most of his experience came abroad and then had a season or two in the Championship, a similar path to Ismael. At some point you have to give these guys a chance right?
