I wanted Howe and will be very disappointed if Roy stays.

I have heard of supporters of many a year who have no desire to watch games at Selhurst Park if the status quo is maintained because of what they described as "Dross" and other negative terms which I will refrain from posting on HOL. The message is that they have to spend time and effort driving to Selhurst Park, then have to locate a parking space which is not in the vicinity of the ground, walk to the ground in all weathers and then have the long drive home.

The football is dross because we have an ageing back 4 who need to play deep, so to compensate we've put a load of midfielders in front of them who are better at breaking up play than posing a threat, so then have to pick strikers based on how good they are defensively. What I, nor anyone outside of the inner circle, really knows is whether it's Hodgson or the upper management who has created that situation. The league has been a poor standard this year. It's so rare to have 2 teams wrap up relegation so early and no-one currently in 6th - 10th looks a sure bet to beat a Burnley or a Brighton. Norwich & Watford will be better than WBA & Sheff Utd. Next year will be harder. What cannot happen next season is sitting back at home against a bottom 3 side, with zero shots on target and being delighted with a 0-0. It's going to be too competitive to give up games like that. I don't care what has to change to stop that from happening. If we can change that with Hodgson still in charge, then fine.

Thanks Willow - I like it when people coming to the club have some sort of link already established. Hopefully Dyche comes and brings Woan with him.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Having established that you are then in a much better position to judge and compare what others might offer. I do not see anything in this article indicating he will stay or go. At least he is now in a good position to consider any approaches with a clear mind.

Burnley are in a similar position to us - the manager deals with the football side but clearly has little say in the rest of the running of the club. And would dearly love more funds available but has to make do with what he’s got. And has done a pretty good job given the constraints of the squad. And their supporters have no more idea about who will be managing their club next season than we have

Dyche is still in contract but could decide to move if offered a better opportunity, subject to compensation etc. Who knows. He does have a pub named after him outside the away end at Turf Moor, which is pretty cool.
