I think the point, which you appear to be wilfully missing, is that the vaccines all take at least two and normally three weeks to offer any meaningful protection.

The other point being made was if you caught COVID on the flight then you would have little immunity but would not show as positive in a test. That would take 3 to 5 days in most cases. So travelling isn't a bright thing to do. I don't think I need to say more.

Not wilfully missing anything.....weighed up the pros and cons, decided to go...didn't have the Vax FOR the trip that was a coincidence....EVERYONE ON THE PLANE HAD NEGATIVE TEST . Used about a gallon Of sanitizer, mask all the time. Sooner or later we have to start living again, like it or not, or do you wanna be prisoners forever? Anyway I don't need to justify it to anyone but me, I'm happy with the precautions I've taken so that's the end of it.....

Once we have the Feb 15th target hit I think the UK should make an offer to Dublin, offering them enough vaccine for their most vulnerable groups. Just for the lolz. It would drive Brussels f***ing nuts.

Another 600,000 vaccinated today. An amazing national effort.

I like your thinking.

To extend the example further I would offer the EU nothing but would be happy to co-operate with individual governments cutting the EU out of the loop.

Of course only after we have vaccinated our key people.

Covid-19: Captain Sir Tom Moore in hospital with coronavirus - [Link]

"Captain Tom Moore is in hospital with pneumonia and has tested positive for Covid, his daughter says. The 100-year-old, who was knighted after raising millions for NHS charities during the first coronavirus lockdown, was admitted to Bedford Hospital earlier where he is receiving "additional help with his breathing", says Hannah Ingram-Moore."

I don't suppose it states for sure whether he'd been vaccinated or not, but it's a crying shame if he hadn't been considering his age. Poor bloke, I hope he pulls through.

edit: A spokesperson for Captain Sir Tom told Sky News he had not yet been vaccinated because he was being treated for pneumonia.

Yes, amazing numbers and effort. For all of the faults along the way, credit to all involved for rolling this out. It puts us in a much better position.

Yep. To be honest, out of all the European nations my inclination would be to offer Portugal first because they are our oldest allies. But yes, direct offers. The EU would only f*** it up anyway.
