I agree, plus we need another striker in January and that's going to be difficult enough without selling Benteke and needing to sign two. We were beaten by a better side yesterday and there's nothing to be gained from singling out individuals to blame. To be honest, it wasn't one of Zaha's best games either was it? We need to be focussing on avoiding a rugby score on Sunday and getting a result at Southampton.

Zaha being played as a striker just isn’t great
Soon as he moves to left wing he wakes up

Play zaha on left and loftus just behind benteke

I watched him closely last night and he got into all the right positions, but the delivery into the box was pretty bad last night.

When Sako came on, he sent in some blinding crosses. We could have nicked a point at the death. i think he needs some competition up front.

Which benteke got nowhere near. He needs to look at the effort and determination that Sako puts in.

Because it's nice to know if a striker is running about like a headless chicken ?

If we get anything from Arsenal , City or any of the top six it is a bonus , we need Benteke to show his quality against the rest of the teams as he did against Leicester and was missed at Swansea.

RLC looks far more comfortable on the right of a midfield three - he is being played out of position to accommodate Zaha playing more centrally up front.

As someone shouted out last night "Play your players in their best positions".I understand this thinking but sometimes managers look at the overall balance of the team hence players are sometimes played where they are less comfortable but do a job for the team.

Do those saying ‘get rid’, expect us to just write Benteke off and take a loss on him? And how much do people expect us to spend on someone better?

He’s struggling for form but there’s a class player in there and we have to continue to back him to come good (and yes, play to his strengths). We’ve got no choice really.

Unfortunately our fans have a history of turning on players seen as expensive.

Yeah, yeah, he’s crap. Of course he is. I’m sure we’ll sign someone much better. Definitely someone proven.

You wrote us off as relegated months ago anyway.
