I also had prostate cancer 16 years ago which I had 3 ops and radiotherapy which put it into remission until last year when it came back again and I am having injections and tablets to combat it. STILL no vegan diet was prescribed so in all I think what you say about a cancer cure by going on a vegan is a load of b0llocks. I will stick with my oncologist and the treatment he is giving me. I do buy the claims that a vegan diet can help reduce the risk of cancer. As for it curing a cancer, that's got to be up there with homoeopathy hasn't it?

I have to have my monthly check up soon and I will make a point of asking my oncologist about a vegan diet and if it can cure cancer as these injections are no fun and have loads of side effects. If eating dandy lion leaves and plants can cure me Boy will I go for it !!!
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

And even then, there are many other factors that can also contribute. To be fair, the OP has mentioned some of them too.

Surely you would be better placed to say that if you had been on the vegan diet and still got the cancer? Just saying

Im a Palace fan, and a 'vegan', although I dislike the stigma around that word sos prefer just to say I follow a plant-based diet. I differ from the 'usual vegans', as I dont have blue hair, i'm not anti-market Marxist or 'loonie leftie' - but I genuinely believe a vegan diet has helped me in numerous ways. I think people who are so closed minded to the idea should perhaps educate themselves, before formulating such a strong opinion on something they know next to nothing about. Although I have numerous motives behind it; one that may shock you is a hereditary predisposition to cancer. Meat and dairy consumption are directly correlated with cancer rates, across the world, with numerous cases of cancer being CURED by a complete change in diet. No i'm no whacky that preaches peace etc, its just a subject that is very hard to find information on, but once enlightened, the facts are truly gobsmacking. E.g. Showering for 2 months is the equivalent amount of water for a QUARTER OF A POUND OF BEEF, does that not even make you think?? Or that our intestines are longer, larger and are designed to process foods for longer period; we share similar digestive systems to herbivores, e.g. We do not have a predominant set of canines, like dogs. Have a read and educate, before labelling others and questioning their motives - have you ever asked yourself why you eat meat? Tradition, taste and convenience... I know why I eat a certain percentage of meat. My nutritionist says my body can't properly process fruits and vegetables. There is no one absolutely right way to eat, except not to do so in excess. My ex-wife, who was until recently a partial vegetarian, was told by her doctors she must resume eating meat due to an iron deficiency. A number of years ago she had a thyroid condition. I know she doesn't like the taste of meat but it has become necessary. Her doctors practice at the world famous Columbia University Medical Center in New York. I sincerely doubt anyone here has the equivalent credentials. Each person is different an certain foods which are considered "good" may not be for certain people. I am one of them. Good for most people is not good for me. Since I want to see my daughter graduate from college I will continue to eat the foods that professionals have said are good for me.
