If it's that important why have us or other countries not sent troops out there. 500 and 150 years ago fundamentalists weren’t driving trucks into crowds of people. This act will directly re energize ISIS, and you know what, this affects you, because your boy Donald thinks the 10000 IS prisoners will escape to......Europe! Lmao. You have no idea what I would be shouting about. Once you get your precious Brexit it will be even harder to stop them infiltrating your homeland. Trump has delivered jack s***, he just deployed more troops to Saudi Arabia, directly contradicting his precious campaign promises, which he has a history of f***ing up, Mexican paid wall, anyone?
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

And that is his rejection of advice from his inner circle, a group with far more experience and understanding of the situation than him. That gives enough context to the did/didn't do question. Let's not forget he also has significant business interests in Turkey. Again, I understand the strategy but I don't agree with the execution. It could and should have been handled better. You are not qualified to make that assessment.

Sorry Maine but is that really a laughing matter? Despite the fact that someone you disagree with might be affected. Next time some maniac shoots up a school in America will that be funny too?

You are not qualified to make that assessment. I get your angle. Are you qualified to have an opinion on this matter? Or do you just reply to everything with 'You are not qualified to make that assessment'. haha. I can imagine you saying it to yourself when someone asks you advice on pretty much anything that someone more qualified could answer with more authority. Nonsensical dross

If no one drew conclusions from anything other than the people who knew then there would be very little discourse at all. And based on the available information I think it’s clear he could have been a little more tactful in the way he went about this escalating mess. We will find out whether he has played a blinder or not in due course.

We helped the Kurds defeat IS in their backyard not the other way around. Our involvement was as much a reaction to attacks inspired by IS in Europe, as well as the heinous propaganda videos of our people, by the same group. We didn't pop over to do anyone a favour. Stating Trump's own talking points may not offer a very complete assessment. Quote
Is Trump now supposed to front up to the third biggest land army with a small force of troops? Is the US supposed to be quaking in their boots at Turkey now? Come on. The whole reason Turkey didn't attack Kurds in that area is due to US troops being there. There would be a heavy price for doing so and so any attack was only going to happen if they left. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R) on Sunday sharply criticized President Trump’s decision to remove U.S. troops from northeastern Syria. “We all know that if there were still those … soldiers, Turkey wouldn’t attack,” Kinzinger, an Air Force veteran, said Also, let's not forget that the US persuaded the Kurds to take down their fortifications and defenses in the area 'last month' due to their promise of joining forces there. Hence, a decision that even many military types find to be rather disgusting. And if others are all in on to the idea that this was a shrewd 'bring em home' move by Trump, perhaps they should also appreciate that Trump ordered 1,800 US Troops to Saudi Arabia the following day. I get that people take political positions, but with this situation it clearly highlights the pitfalls of just slavishly ticking a box based on partisan positioning. What's happened is pretty s***ty and is an act of throwing those the US fought alongside to the wolves. Edited by dollardays (13 Oct 2019 11.27pm)
