They were about one step away much like Sinn Fein. Plenty of members of the DUP in the day had associations with groups like the UDA, UVF etc. who were involved in terrorist activities that supported the DUP agenda. Ian Paisley was involved with the formation of several 'milita' in Northern Ireland. Just because they were aimed against the IRA, doesn't mean they weren't a terrorist group. Interesting that forming a coalition with a Nationalist party is ok with Conservatives, given how much fuss they made of the possibility of a SNP and Labour alliance. Utter rubbish.
We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men. [Orwell] |

The people who lost the most from this election are the Parliamentary Labour Party - those MPs are now in a f**ked position, as their constituents returned a very positive support for Corbyn, and they are themselves there to represent their constituents. Their position has just been pushed over the table and firmly taken from behind.

Lest we forget this election was called by Mrs May to get unity behind her position on brexit to strengthen her hand in negotiations with the EU. Whatever the result this has clearly back-fired disastrously and we have the opposite.

Or as I see it, exercised their legal democratic right to express their views, opinions and beliefs, irrespective of attempts to curtail them by fear mongering, threats and doomsaying. It doesn't matter what our negotiating power is if we're negotiating in a manner that doesn't reflect the will of the people. I don't remember having a second referendum on the details of Brexit. Brexit means leaving the single market or it is not really Brexit at all. reducing immigration was a primary reason why people voted Leave.

Utter rubbish. The only real difference between the DUP and Sinn Fein is that we talk openly about how close they were with Republican Militias. Sounds much nicer than terrorists.
