Yes they are. They are the ones with the resources to check and verify, before they publish. They aren't self-important attention seekers, sitting at a desk in a basement, in front of a camera and trawling through disinformation deliberately placed to confuse and obscure. Who then conjure up stories to suit a predetermined narrative which reinforces the prejudices of a small but noisy audience of the "dissident right". Plus a few from the "dissident left". Confirmation biases and conspiracy theories abound. Truth is a rare commodity. By all means use multiple sources before reaching a conclusion, but don't use sources which have zero credibility. Why not just say , yes Stirling you are correct, or is that waaay too painful for your qwerty to write?

It's, of course, untrue. I defend our democracy and institutions that are working well, but also argue for change where I think it is needed. I favour PR and want a root and branch over haul of our political parties.

He's a progressive Don Quixote on his crusade striking at his numerous enemies the only way he knows how. Taking advantage of the right's far more lenient attitude to free speech compared to how his political opposite would be treated by his own politically authoritarian demographic. I think Russia is getting close to spent in this conflict. • Conscripts that aren’t even being trained, properly equipped Probably why they’re digging in. Try and hold the land they have and attempt to wait it out. That’s assuming the amateurs amongst their ranks don’t revolt or wither over the harsh winter months Only way he can ‘win’ now is through use of nukes, and I don’t believe that will happen. For many reasons. I think the nuclear option has been overblown by the media, and some of us have bought into the fear. I don’t think it will end soon, but I can’t see Russia making any more significant offensive gains by conventional means. Probably just fall back to indiscriminate shelling and turn whatever is in shelling range into another Raqqa.

Russia have used their army or called up reservists, all of which have military experience. It's the Ukraine that have used conscripts from the start of the war. Personally, I think it's doubtful to talk about the motivation of any conscript regardless of which side they fight on. They are winning ground in some areas and giving up ground in others. Some with limited or basic military experience some with none. I think they’re done offensively barring some miracle.
I also think it’s pretty nailed on that soldiers and conscripts defending their homeland will be more determined than anyone Russia can bundle into a van and throw onto the front line with insignificant training and equipment in the depth of winter. Edited by SW19 CPFC (10 Nov 2022 10.51pm)

It's 300, 000 reservists. 200, 000 of which are going to enter the field this month.....Some of that number probably already have. I wouldn't know what the truth is as to the extent of experience but I do know that the Russians haven't called up conscripts. I guess we will see what happens on the actual battlefield. However, like I said, there are Russian offensives going on outside Donetsk and they are said to be retreating from the Kherson area. Whatever happens I just want this thing to be over, I don't care who wins what.
