No, I don’t think Matthau will be ridiculed. Likely the conspiracy theorists will come up with a plausible explanation. But should you eventually decide you were taken in, I really do believe you have friends here that will understand and help you readjust to new ‘knowledge’ Matthau. Edited by Mapletree (11 Jan 2021 11.20pm) I’ll happily take it on the chin and will appologise and am quite level headed. If indeed after 20th nothing happens I was never a conspiracy theorist before and I despised trump aswell pre March.

Is there any point in reasoned debate though? You see for me the last 4 years or so have shown that what I thought were absolutes in terms of accepting the outcomes of democratic processes have been shaken to their core. The attempts to render my Brexit vote null and void, the way that Trump came under constant and never-ending attempts to have his Presidency cut short, these are all rule changers. And now this current farce. I genuinely do not see a way back. Throw in all that BLM knee bending and I really have to wonder about just what the hell is going on. Entire US cities were under constant and never-ending rioting for weeks at a time and all we were told was that it was just 'protests'. Yet some bunch of idiots are allowed to breach security at what should be one of the most secure buildings in the world before indulging in a load of beyond childish behaviour and that is a this monstrous riot that means the ability to communicate with millions of people is suddenly denied to the President of the US? From organisations who allow all kinds of real despots and dictators to do what they want? No. Lines have to be drawn. The Left simply do not want to 'get along'. I feel you've sought to neatly fit a narrative around your own political inclinations. If anything the steadfast refusal by some to accept the Brexit result has much more in common with the stream of ridiculous election claims Stateside - most of which were debunked in about 5 seconds - used as denial of the election result. Trump even directly stated prior to the result that we would accept it 'if he won'. Hence the Brexit-like 'no this cannot be!' by him and his supporters now. It's ironic then that you actually cut people out of your life for their Brexit view, when realistically you've done a magnified version of the same thing yourself and drifted off on an undemocratic flight of fantasy with the US election (which some went to extreme lengths to directly interfere with). With your take here you make moaning remainers look like amateurs. The inner city riots were shocking and a terrible thing to witness, and more action should've been taken at every stage. One doesn't justify the other though, and it wasn't as if one was direct consequence of the other either, the latter was caused by relentlessly disingenuous claims about the election. And only one of these acts was a direct attempt to violently take down elected officials. Perhaps if someone had broken into, say, Nigel Farage's home with zip-ties and battered his security guard to death in denial of the Brexit result you might apply a modicum more seriousness to it. I wouldn't talk down any incident of violence left or right, but you've made the situation on the Capitol sound like some kind of childish jolly. While some were clearly misguided or delusional individuals, many were armed, had zip ties, a pipe bomb was left, homemade chemical weapons were found, a cop was battered to death by a crowd of people - for protecting the Capitol against those who, you guessed it, sought to violently disrupt the democratic process. You should have far more disdain for these extremes than you do any remoaner. Instead you appear to be less affronted by this madness than with the upholding of the election result. As the convo has become a bit more civil- I’ll show you a little something. In all of this conspiracy stuff, this alt Bitcoin thing was mentioned throughout, xrp, as trumps bringing in a new banking system. Has to otherwise this will all happen again in the future. A new transparent banking system is essential. At the end of the day everything always comes down to money doesn’t it? This is also why trumps economy was at an all time best in the height of the pandemic. Because he was using his own. The federal reserve is the elite. He’s fighting against them So anyway. Back to my point. Don’t hold me to this one, only buy a tenners worth if you do ok?? But, now you have read all my prior disccusions, you know already the presiency is about to change on 20th (isn’t!)

With your take here you make moaning remainers look like amateurs. Edited by BlueJay (12 Jan 2021 1.27am) I have always expressed my reservations about the wisdom/validity of any electoral result decided on the basis of postal voting because that is where the electoral system is most at risk from being gamed. Happens all the time. But I have constantly said that Biden will become President unless there is some jack-hammer of evidence that comes to light. That is how the game is played. What I refuse to do that is just back-away and mutter quietly in a corner (although ultimately that is all any of us can realistically do) The difference between my stance and that of Remoaners is that not one of them ever questioned the validity of the actual referendum vote itself. Instead all they did was try and have it not only re-run but then actually rigged in their favour. If you think a vote was cast illegally, then it is perfectly legitimate to say that. If you want a vote dismissed because you don't like the selection made, then that puts you into an entirely different category. Postal voting is a s*** way to conduct a democracy. Casting a vote should have a gravitas, a sense of importance. There should be a price to pay for that, even if only a discipline of walking to cast it. But with that comes an authenticity. Polling stations are monitored. Covered by laws. Postal voting should be a very tightly regulated process that is only granted in the most extreme of cases. When they come in volumes, then doubts are legitimately raised. Covid gave the Democrats cover to play the system. I have not seen anybody claim that they would have won without the Covid situation. The polling got it horribly wrong, yet again. Trump increased his share of the vote amongst all kinds of groups that we were told would recoil in horror at voting for him. Should that debacle/riot at the Capitol building have played out? Then no. But serious questions have to be asked as to how that was allowed to come about.

No-one gets hurt by that do they?
