It's literally impossible to eradicate all of it. Until moderation can be properly automated the whole thing still relies on AI flagging and user reporting. Even then, there is not enough manpower to read, assess and close every single one.

However, it is easier to eradicate groups or specific types of vitriol from specific sources that are being repeatedly flagged for contravening the rules in place. An individual that decides to live stream a murder can't be stopped until someone flags it – as that would mean some sort of minority report style system! Individuals posting randomly are also far harder to anticipate and/or monitor.

As before, groups or people posting about trending topics that are being monitored because they are becoming a growing, noticeable issue? Far easier. That's where the manpower is, not focused on Janet live-streaming her cat being kicked across a room on facebook.

And as BJ (LOLE) points out – are you suggesting only right leaning content that breaks the rules gets banned? And none gets through the net? I think you're being way too partisan on this one. It's nonsense

Re. platforms – twitter is massive. Several orders of magnitude larger than Parler, Gab etc. It's main form of content is therefore way more diverse – and not just vitriolic. So it's actually pretty easy to understand why platforms like parler and gab that get setup or hijacked to become a gathering place for one single group, that mainly post vitriol, conspiracy theories and other assorted dross, get targeted and shut down.

It happens on the larger platforms but a) they're far more strict with their terms vs. gab et al, and b) that sort of s*** isn't the main content on there. It's diluted by 'average' people posting mundane dross about their cats (not Janet).

And it's not just the right. Amusingly the antifa international group got banned from teespring for simply having the word 'antifa' on their shirts... amusingly on the same site 'Camp Auschwitz' merch is still doing a roaring trade. So, it works both ways, but maybe not if you're partisan and don't bother (or want) to be objective.

Also are you suggesting that the 'right' don't do exactly the same thing to the 'left'? You could literally rewrite your second para and replace 'leftist' with 'right-wing'. Let's not pretend they're not both at it, all the time.
