According to the Office of National Statistics the EU billed the UK for £19.6 billion in 2015 or almost £376 million each week. The revelation comes after repeated claims by the Remain campaign and its supporters that Vote Leave's battlebus gross figure of £350 million a week going to the EU was "a lie".
VOTING OUT - Brexit will allow Britain to embrace the Commonwealth and be GREAT again |

In simple terms, if you give me £20 and I give you a tenner, you then have £10. So, to say you have £20 is not accurate.

No, in simple terms UK paid more than £350m a week all along, which again is what I was saying all along.

I don't understand the argument. Logically, in terms of "EU Club" membership fees, it's still £211m per week difference in the EU's favour as well as a significant UK trade deficit in their favour. Not sure where "cheaper goods" are readily available to the UK public after the significant mark up by our middle men. However, I do agree some goods can be cheaper if you purchase them on the continent and bring them in.

Which makes the EU an absolute bargain as it includes single market full membership which Mrs.Thatcher signed us into. It costs Norway 420 million just to be there and have no say in how it operates thats the sort of trade deal the EU will have in mind. The BRexit has no cards to play.

Still don't understand the enthusiasm for full EU membership. We buy more from the EU than we sell to them. We are also a significantly larger market than Norway. Norway pays 420 million what and how frequently? Is it more that the £844m a month net contribution we currently make to have access to a trade deficit and a questionable degree of influence over what? I'd say the Brexit cards are very playable.

Brexit is the biggest busted flush since the south sea bubble...but you are correct, play the hand we have been dealt we must.

Edited by dannyh (02 Aug 2016 1.58pm) Err this is your agenda, your decision, no-one to scapegoat now....so when you and the other overweight disgruntled coppers who got passed over for promotion, get yet more cuts, just take a very long hard look at yourself because this is what your cycnical agenda of hate and blame has caused
