Belarus say they have a deployed 70 thousand troops with an additional unknown number of Russian troops along the Polish border. Something to do with a military exercise Poland are doing. Belarus are saying that the west has funded and trained insurgents to destabilize their security and they are running counter terrorist operations. Obviously we have no idea as to the truth or validity of those claims but that's what's happening over there. We are hearing that Belarus has also sent troops to Pinsk, which is only roughly 12 miles from Ukraine's border, while we know that an unknown number of Russian troops are also in that region. Putin says that he has mobilised 222 thousand of the planned 300 thousand troop reservists so far. Of that number 16 thousand are currently in combat units and that 33 thousand have been assigned to units (that means that 33 thousand will soon be added to combat duties within a week at most two). That's means roughly 20 percent of the mobilisation will be fighting by the end of the month. With the other eighty percent added during November. There is a lot of fighting along multiple fronts in the Kherson region at the moment, we await the dust to settle to ascertain how the front line has shifted. We know that the Wagner group are making slow progress in the city of Bakhmut in Donbas....probably using those prisoners as stormtroopers. There is a lot of fighting all along the fronts at the moment and claims are being made of battle line movements but the dust hasn't settled on them. It's known that the Ukraine have an offensive in the Kupyansk front to the north of Donbas, where it's rumoured that the first batch of Russia's mobilsed are fighting. My take is that while the weather holds fighting will increase in both number and intensity over the next six weeks. However, you would think that at some point the weather will make movement of large numbers of heavy equipment difficult and that lines will stablise and become mainly artillery battles....I guess how mild or bad the winter is has consequences for all of us.

There are quite a few countries calling on their citizens to urgently leave the Ukraine recently. Notably Italy being the latest. Whatever is going to take place I think events in Ukraine will have moved on considerably by the end of November. Edited by Stirlingsays (17 Oct 2022 4.55pm)

Russia now lost more men (liquidated as they describe it) around 65,000 than the USA lost in 10 years in Vietnam. So about 80,000 deaths by the end of the year. Plus the Russian reservists coming up against sophisticated weaponry, lambs to the slaughter.

Personally, I don't care who takes what ground. If they could sign a peace treaty tomorrow and stay where they were I'd be happy.....In fact I'd take any result in this war for either side just as long as it meant the war ended and the economic damage stopped. Personally, I see no good outcomes for Europe....this benefits some I could mention but not us.

Every death is a tragedy and I recognise that but in terms of war only a 'me me' generation would go on about losing 65 thousand over ten years. We lost that just fighting the Somme, which was one battle in WW1. The Russians lost over eight and a half million soldiers fighting Germany and over twice more that number of civilians in four years of fighting. Edited by Stirlingsays (17 Oct 2022 5.49pm)

you must also remind yourself how much fake news was around at the start of this war. Things seem to have improved slightly, but I'm still wary of figures and statistics in this conflict.

Russia had a really bad September and Ukraine/Nato a really good one. However October seems to have stablised for the Russians with them making small gains. Debatable how much the recovery is down to weather slowing down the Ukrainians/over running their supply lines/infrastructure damage or actual Russian military action, but either way, vital breathing room for the Russians, remember, everything comes down to how much time and how well Russia can train up and kit out the mobilised army. Russia running out of cruise missiles and parts. Now turning to Iran the these. Russia bound to make some gains but hopefully they will not amount to much. I don't see the point of drone strikes at Kviv they are nearly all shot down. What is the Russian strategy it looks illogical.

Perhaps you should get Telegram, which isn't censored and look at both pro Ukrainian and Russian sources rather than just western ones. Perhaps then you'd be able to look at the videos yourself and decide for yourself. Edited by Stirlingsays (17 Oct 2022 8.08pm)

My impression is that the Ukraine are under pressure to make more gains before the November mid terms so that Biden can point to successes and justify the spending.....So they need Kherson....otherwise they risk the Republicans blocking spending after Biden inevitably loses the houses. The Russians are going to make Europe cold and expensive and probably take back some territory once they deploy their mobilisation....or it could be a failure...especially if the weather is bad. This was never my war obviously but it's essentially turned into one of attrition and cold war.....we have competing structures now....The GAE and the BRICs.....the GAE standing for the global American Empire.

Edited by Stirlingsays (17 Oct 2022 8.08pm) Funny I was watching RT 24/7 News on Odysee and I found myself on Telegram did not have time to investigate, thanks.
