if she starts preaching about Climate Change then the BBC will achieve a singularity and Overdrive into the next dimension.

She could always demand people start referring to her as 'Alexander' Scott too...

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

A friend came to stay and Question of Sport was on the TV. Blimey he said that passed it's sell by date years ago. That was 30 years ago

I couldn't care less whether she is a black rug muncher or anything else but what I do find very aggravating is her mangling of the English language

Someone from the BBC must have been reading this thread as it was announced today that the show has been put to one side

Quiz Ball was better. There's one of them on YouTube (Arsenal v. Forest). Because footballers of the time hadn't had any media training each team had a celebrity guest to help them along, in this case Jimmy Young and Ted Moult.
At the time it didn't seem odd to see a footballer smoking a pipe on a quiz show.

After 53 years, 50 of which were highly successful, they thought they would add their progressive touch. That worked well for them, as they lost the majority of their viewers. Well done the BBC, again.

I think the last time I saw this show David Vine or Coleman was the Chairman.

My guess is that they decided to change the format because the numbers were going down. In hindsight I think it was a mistake to broaden the show to include non sports people.

My guess is that it then just became yet another celebrity show full of mates and friends of the BBC. There are plenty of those shows around on all channels so QOS lost it's unique appeal.

That said it had a good run and for a change the BBC has simply cancelled a show due to poor viewing figures. This is standard in the industry with the exception being the Beeb where it always seems to be a major issue.

Perhaps this is the new reality shows that are a success will live whilst those that are not will die the same the rest of the world over.

On a Question of Sport.....I stopped watching when Sue 'sob, Cliff won't marry me' Barker took over presenting....that's a long time ago.

But it was never the show it was back in the Bill Beaumont and Emlyn Hughes days.

i am hoping 'Woke-iversity Challenge' will commit Hara-Kiri.

Its getting very close with all the impossible questions. Asking about the first man to get pregnant, first woman to beat Mike Tyson and the effect of Climate change on the rainbow flags of Brighton.

So many questions on the Atlantic Slave Trade. And yet so few on the 'White Slave' trade. I wonder why that is ?

I think viewing figures went down during this time more because of the viewing time than anything else and whilst I agree she was not Coleman or Vine, she remained streets ahead of the more recent attempt and was accordingly more successful in attracting viewers.

With the right people this could still be a successful programme, but the BBC appear incapable of sticking with a formula that works as they don’t tick enough of their boxes.

Sports Personality of the Year on tonight.

I haven't watched it in decades but I've seen the candidates, hardly inspiring. I guess it's been a poor year.

It's an expensive show to put on and I wonder why the BBC persists. The Beeb has more or less given up on competitive sport so it's an anachronism to celebrate something the BBC no longer supports.

It would make more sense for Sky to host it, yes I know it's The BBC SPOTY but hey ho.

I shall be watching one of the streaming services.

I will not be watching.
It is not what it once was and leftie Lineker will host with Alex can't say ing Scott - just awful.
The woman footballer will win and the whole thing will be a joke.
As to Q of S - apparently figures fell from over 4m to 750,000 after Sue Barker left.
Useless BBC thinking that they can tinker with a great programme and ruin it but blame it on anything but the real reason.
Absolute tw***s!
