The teacher union NEU might obstruct that, ignoring the fact that key workers have been working throughout all of this and more are beginning to go back to work. They’re going to create a really bad feeling towards teaching if this happens. There are all kinds of teachers - some who have been pushed to the limit by demands throughout this Pandemic. They have had to suddenly change everything and somehow teach possibly hundreds of students from home. Edited by ASCPFC (15 May 2020 12.19pm)

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

And what makes it more challenging is at the same time ideally you should pretend like you are enjoying it in order to avoid upsetting the person who asked you to join. I had to go as well because for some reason my boy is fan of Abba. We went together. Honestly speaking, not so bad. My problem is that i don`t like musicals. Only moments i enjoy is when they start talking properly instead of communicating to each other by singing. Which would be awkward reason to go to a musical.

One view on this `not only vulnerable and old is impacted` discussion. True that there has been cases which impacted people who has no underlying issues or not old. However: - One other reason is the interaction intensity with the virus. This probably is the main reason why there has been excessive loss for NHS and transport staff. - There is a terminology named as `standard deviation`in statistics. This may seem soulles for this discussion but it is about ruled out extremes while analysing a data to come to a conclusion. For eg, when you need to analyze summer temperature in UK, ideally you need to rule out 2 days which UK seen 37-38 C or 12-13 C due to unforecasted reason. Else, this may manipulate your data. There is simply no harm to consider this data for virus impact for sure. But the discussion is how feasible it is to let decision led by this portion when those decisions would impact 60-70% of the population which is exactly opposite of what virus reporting says. It should not be about full lockdown or who-cares-herd-immunity approach. Diversed & balanced approach based on different profile and dynamics would be the common sense.

In all fairness to you, I got dragged to the Riverdance and to Blood Brothers in The West End. I didn't mind Riverdance as I got well pissed up beforehand and it's kind of catchy (when drunk). Blood Brothers may as well just be the programme sellers at Anfield, fighting over a fifty pence coin. Cannot see the appeal in musicals but why women always like them is anybody's guess: much like most things to do with the minds of the (less rational) fairer (and obviously more evolved Becky) sex.

I don't hate all musicals just bad ones....and boy, those are two prescient examples of bad musicals....That said if a bloke really enjoys his musicals...you know...that little bit too much then it's like an unofficial announcement. Your post chimes with me though. The well meaning bloke will go through many instances of suffering for the betterment of others....but it has its limits. I remember complaining on here about my missus's weirdo obsession with marmite crumpets. Edited by Stirlingsays (15 May 2020 2.09pm)

Excellent post. Seconded. "And if the homework brings you down, from Kooks Btw Bowie was obsessed with Orwell's 1984 Yeah, but how can a novel written in 1948 have any relevance to the world we're living in today? you may ask. The technology was so primitive for a start. WRONG !!! If we can't open our eyes, at least apply a little common sense.

Does Quadrophenia count? If not I don’t like musicals (exception Susan Sarandon in the Rocky Horror Picture Show)

You're a braver man than me....I've always disliked that old Irish music and dancing (though I'm part northern Irish) and Riverdance looks like pretentious armless ballet to me.....tarts showing off. And if you want to see a tart showing off you can't do better than Travolta. As for Blood Brothers....listening to whining scousers singing for two hours....We already know what that sounds like.
