True.

Ooh does Pikey work there?

But then it must take the same amount of effort for matresses to be brought in.

Maybe there is somewhere local that does beds! I dunno, seems strange to me too but is possible.

This thread has quietened down, I assume many people are trying to make their way home now.

Hope you all get home safely.

I take it people are being told to stay put because they will have no way of getting home. Not because they are still in danger.

It has all quietened down now, I hope there are no more attacks, as were reported on here earlier.

Just picked up my mum, she works for Westminster Social Services and the traume team and there are apparently 60 Fatalities/Casualties from the bus blast.

I'm only relaying what inside info she had, but the death toll will rise by quite a bit I would think.

The husband of a girl at work is a fireman and been at King's Cross today - alot of stuff not out at present - apparantly there have been 6 other devices that have been defused, the bus incident was a device that went off prematurely, and they reckon that there may be >100 killed at King's Cross alone! He says that so far they have the body parts of 40 people and there are more down there!

Sounds like it could have been more widespread and the news is going to get even worse as the hours and days pass.

God help anyone caught up in all this and may those guilty of this obscene carnage die a painful and prolonged death.

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline - it helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

That truly is shocking

It will take weeks before the final numbers become apparent.

I have just finished reading every single page of this thread after getting home from work. I havent really been able to keep up with it because weve been so busy today but i got home and i am in absolute total shock. I actually am moved to tears. At work we thought it was only a minor thing but when you actually see places on the tv that youve been to, that are now in absolute mayhem, it really hits home.

I personally dont know anyone that was up there today apart from my dad who works in the HSBC building in Canary Wharf and he managed to get home by river boat to waterloo then a train but my heart goes out to all the people that have lost friends and family today in this sick act of terrorism. Now is the time to hold our heads up high and be proud to be british, for our emergency services have done a great job so far from what ive heard and we will not be beaten by terrorism.

Ive been moved by the stories of near misses on here and i feel for you, i really do.

God bless

E
