A lot of hate for Textor on this board but do the haters really think we would have bagged Glasner without his involvement?

Really? Without his money we could well be plying our trade in the Championship now My issue with this is I dont think its 'his money' - he is just someone who is backed by other investors. I mean someone would call that the master of being a good businessman, some call it shady. I am not entirely sure Harris and Blizter would have let us go down either though, few january windows when we looked like we could go down they spent a fair bit. My main gripe with Textor is not him himself, its just I dont agree with this whole Multi-Club ownership stuff in general. When he came in initially he said a lot of the right things, and even recently he's never once slagged off the club or parish (not publicly anyways). However I dont really agree with him basically saying he wanted to buy everton or other clubs when he still has 40% of us!

Quote from above: (should have hit reply - sorry) A lot of hate for Textor on this board but do the haters really think we would have bagged Glasner without his involvement? Not sure there is generally hate for Textor. He made his play with 40% of Palace. It didn't work out for him so time to move on. His was the best offer to the 60% shareholders of Palace and looks like the 60% got it right. They got the funding and perhaps thanks to Textor a great manager. Textor didn't get the chance to take the Palace players cheaply to improve Lyon that he wanted. (OK, he got one - but still a surprise that turned out so brilliantly) So it didn't work out for Textor but with 14 bidders interested in his shares and Palace status riding high and squad values at an all time high he shouldn't lose out. I don't really know why the Harris / Blitzer haven't wanted bigger stakes and invest more. Maybe they are 2 of the 14 who want to buy Textor's shares? Edited by mileend (26 Jul 2024 8.40am)

Blitzer and Harris tried to buy Chelsea, not everyone fits your ideal image of an investor.

However they didnt exactly come out publicly in a interview and say it like Textor did We just hope that the 40% of textors is sold to someone we can all get onboard with - probably unlikely I know given the amount of the clubs being brought by Hedge/Investment funds from the US. The dream reality for every club is to be fan owned but just not realistic in 2024 for any premier league club Edited by MFW94 (26 Jul 2024 9.06am)

Seemingly he wants to sell his Palace shares to buy 80 percent of Sheffield United

Precisely. He wants as many pies as possible in as many countries as possible. Then he wants to move the ingredients of the pies between the pies to make more tasty pies. However he doesn't own all the pies and some ingredients don't want to be moved and to further complicate pie matters there are additional cross border pie ingredient rules, ownership laws, pie sharing directives and cultural resistance of those who don't like the taste of the new pies. It's about as clear as I can make his intentions. His chef skills aren't up to it. Edited by mileend (25 Jul 2024 8.01pm)

update from the Guardian Harris and Blitzer offered him his money back He wants to make a profit and a couple of other interested parties might offer him that Not sure the Middle Eastern or Celebrity US Sports options sound very good for the club - but I guess both are likely options these days
