He chose Frank who had a much better CV (even done well since leaving Palace) fired the man after 6 games you really think he would take a big risk on this other guy when the squad needs a rebuild. If he could Big Sam would be in the list but no way he would return to the club plus not sure fans would accept that
Ismael has managed a bigger team than us in Wolfsburg, took LASK to the the Europa League last 16 after topping a group including Sporting Lisbon and PSV and is arguably the manager of the year in the Championship this season. But sure... Premier League experience. Maybe we could get Pardew back or see if Joe Kinnear is about eh? Edited by Canterbury Palace (21 May 2021 7.58am)

With respect, I am under the opinion that the comments which you have attributed to me were made some time ago, probably back in March! Perhaps you will have noticed that I have been rather silent in relation to managerial speculation in recent weeks.I have been conspicuous by my absence on the relevant threads !
March?!? March was only 7 weeks ago and it has been blatantly obvious since way before then that Roy was not going to be in charge next season. Whilst everything pointed towards SP not renewing Roy’s contract I would hazard a guess that so few people knew what was actually planned that it remained confidential and completely private between an extremely limited and trusted few that did. Hence any suggestion that there was some inside information doing the rounds is absurd because the news would’ve leaked and would not have been delivered in the way it was by both Roy and the club on Tuesday. To now backtrack on your earlier statements and furthermore suggest that you are somehow informed on what work the club has been doing behind the scenes to appoint his replacement is unhelpful and just fantasy. Please give it a rest and stop with this attention seeking nonsense.

Edited by dazza (20 May 2021 8.47pm) TBF dazza you also made a number of similar statements just as assertively during last summer’s transfer window, about players we had definitely signed and that would be announced in the coming days. These turned out to be so way off the mark and not forthcoming that I can fully understand the scepticism and doubts demonstrated by Mstrobez (and others) on the forum.

To claim that I am some "Attention seeker" is totally and utterly ludicrous and ridiculous, so I dismiss such allegations out of hand. I have stayed well clear of all the discussions apropos managerial candidates and only entered the debate out of respect to a poster who asked me a question. This is hardly the actions of an "Attention seeker". In the final analysis I am a humble chappie with no ego and don't view myself as being on any pedestal or pantheon. I dismiss your 'Charges' out of hand and will make NO further comment or respond to any of your brickbats as I really don't wish to provide them with the oxygen of publicity.Any further barbs shall go unanswered. What can I say? Well you could start by admitting that you said we would definitely be signing Benrahma and Brewster and you were wrong. How about that?

OK I admit I have got some things wrong but only passing what I get told. We also know that some deals can change at the last minute does not mean we were not in talks or close to signing these players. I am only passing on what I got/get told & that is Frank will be the new manager. A lot of the press articles are done for click bait, the decision fir Roy to go was done weeks ago therefore the club have been working on this for weeks. They are just waiting till end of season to announce Frank as that is the right thing to do for Roy. If I’m wrong & info I have been past proves to be incorrect then I will apologise & will stop posting what I hear/get told going forward. I can’t be fairer than that. But to confirm again I have been told that Frank is the new manager & it’s a 3 year deal.

"Frank Lampard has sensationally pulled out of the race to be the new Crystal Palace manager, Football Insider understands. The former Chelsea manager has emerged as the strong favourite to replace Roy Hodgson after holding extensive talks with Palace chiefs. But a Palace source told Football Insider that Lampard has informed the Premier League club that he no longer wants to be considered for the vacant post." So Lampard being the new manager with a 3 year deal looking a bit unlikely now!

That is a relief Willo, thank you. The so called ‘brickbats’ are however all made with merit, as I have provided examples of the comments you made previously, that you are now trying to back pedal on. To simply say you dismiss these ‘out of hand’ is futile and meaningless, as the posts you made are still there in black and white and referenced in the relevant threads. I don’t write this to provoke a response and I’m sure you would prefer that your previous comments not be highlighted but seeing as you repeatedly maintained you ‘do not see Roy’s position as our manager changing’, the announcement on Tuesday does rather emphatically suggest otherwise.
