If you can't see that our coaching is far below the standard needed you are deluded. Look at Leicester City today, they were god awful under Puel with a similar set of players, Brendan Rodgers comes in and they look very good. Our players look scared on the ball, too slow to pass and there is absolutely zero productive movement when we go forwards. This is down to coaching, not the players.

Why was Zaha looking for a move?

Agree, tactics today were wrong but unfortunately Roy doesn't know how to play any other way. Zaha isn't a CF and meyer is not a left winger. I thought kouyate would have started today, away at Sheffield United, not replacing awb was a huge mistake. Dann isn't good enough any more, Cahill must be ready to start. Roy seems to have a plan before the game, shluup will come on at this time etc. He cant react to the game. Surprised camarasa wasnt on the bench, we have 6 cms that are all very similar in how they play. We all new this at the start of the season. Meyer should play in the centre or not play at all, zaha should be on the wing. The defence are lacking options due to a poor transfer window and injuries, but Cahill cant be any worse. We have no goalscorer, or anyone at all busy up front, instead we have an unbalanced team full of Central midfield players, hasbeens, and injury prone ageing players.

Agree with your assessment Dolphin, was at the match and it was possibly the worst away performance I have witnessed from us in a long while, even the fans gave up, there was just nothing in our play to get excited about.
We need a more direct approach and less of the passing sideways and backwards, what we do makes it easy for the opposition.

I agree with all that. Shlupp came on and stank the team up even more which I didn’t think possible. He also looked fat.Terrible all round.

There was so much wrong today that it would be a full essay to get it all off my chest.
Lack of desire and spirit.
Lack of the basic ability to pass the ball to one of our own players.
Pass the ball and make an angle for the return - we couldn't do that - give and go is the expression.
We passed the ball slowly, we moved slowly, we went backwards because there was no one ahead to take the ball, we left a huge hole in the middle of midfield, we didn't want the ball - it just goes on.

Let us remember fellow posters that our Manager is probably on £70k/week and that the wage bill for the starting XI was upwards of £750k/week - they are all expected to perform better than that and no one did!
Certainly not the Manager who was clueless although he can only work with what he has and I can't think of any player who I saw have a good game.
Absolutely pathetic and disgraceful.
Utd weren't much good but they deserved the three points.
This is our 7th season at the top table and I would be happier with the team that came up in 2013 starting today - at least they tried!
That is really damning in my opinion.
Got to stop!

Hit the nail on the head.
Absolutely disgraceful performance.

There is not magic wand says Hodgson. No, but we may have expected a manager to be there! A team where the number of attacking ideas is a plain zero, cannot expect to score. Benteke could easily go 38 games without a goal - as could the whole team. In many aspects this is the worst game for 10 years, and nothing, absolutely nothing, indicated that this is going to change.

How many times do Palace underestimate sides which have been promoted from the championship.Remember the Huddersfield game the season before last
Completely outplayed by a tough physical side who had a game plan to frustrate Palace and snuff out Wilf.

Man U away and an invigorated Man U side too!!!😩

Look on the bright side. 8 goals in our last 4 league games. Of course, all of them in the 2 matches Benteke did not play a minute

Once word sums up that performance...Pathetic!

Outfought and outplayed!

They had so much desire and fight that we weren’t just losing out on the second ball but the third fourth and fifth!

How many times did two of our players just look at each other whilst the Sheffield Utd player came in and took the ball? How many times did they press us and regain possession. We were abject and second best in every department. Wilf and Andros not even challenging for headers and Benteke and Wickham beaten hands down in the air.

Devoid of ideas going forward and lacking creative play from midfield and trying to play out from the back was just painful. In PVA, Ward and Kelly we had the worst distribution I have seen from us in a long time. Both full backs were exposed badly both defensively and in giving the ball away or caught in possession time after time.

I was at the game and I don’t think we even came close to scoring, not once did we get excited about an attempt on goal, it really was utterly pathetic and yes after just two games we should be very worried indeed

With Ward and PVA our line of wing defence we will be taken apart. PVA is getting worse by the game. He was certainly well outplayed today by a mediorce team. He is rubbish. Problem is we dont have another left back to replace him, unless someone knows more than me?
The other major disappointment for me was a totally half hearted Wilfred.
Well pissed off!
